umm they do not need practice
Grizzlies cannot play better ball!

When Pop is asked what needed to change, he says more than once was that the Spurs need to shoot better. Not once does he say that the D needs to improve, and then says that Gasol and Randolph had great games. 2007 Pop would have been pissed that the Grizz shot 55% from the field.![]()
Offense is Pop's mistress now...any talk about defense for the past 4 years has been merely lip service.
It is great to see Manu practiced. (RJ video)
I can't believe Pop and the players are saying we did a good job on D. 55%FG for the other team is a good job on D? They had only 5 off rebs because they hit every shot. I liked how RJ and Hill went after boards but D have too be much better. They need to do a better job helping each other.
God damn I hope Splitter does well in practice for a change.
Pop says Spurs need to shoot better than 40%? amazing!
40% was the lowest FG% of all the first round games, and was shot by both SAS and DAL.
Splitter is not going to play. In Pop's eyes he is not ready for the playoffs.

Tom Orsborn
..."We did a good job (defending) the pick and roll, but Parker still got to the basket a lot,” Hollins said after Monday’s practice. “He shot 4 of 16 and had 11 or 12 free throws, so where did we really contain him?
“I don’t think you can say that we contained him. He just missed a bunch of shots. We fouled him a bunch. We fouled George Hill a bunch. We have to be better.”

Mike Monroe
...“I knew he did not have a good game, and I knew they lost,” Gasol said, “so I knew he wouldn’t be talking a lot.”
...“Marc is great, man,” Randolph said. “He has such a high IQ for the game. That’s what I love about him. He’s been playing so long and playing against older guys, because he was playing overseas. He’s a great player. I love playing with him. He plays the right way.”

thanks for the heads up![]()
the good thing is were not used to him having good ankles and he looks very quick in the video, good to see he looks like hes going to defend with his right hand away from the ball. good idea manu, im sure they would try and re-aggravate the injury
Views from the other side at practice today.

Focus on limiting fouls, defending pick and roll

Tony Allen went into his own version of show and tell when asked how he knew the Grizzlies aren't overconfident after upsetting the Western Conference's No. 1 seed.
Allen extended his right arm and pointed to forward Zach Randolph, who was hoisting jump shots after practice Monday while teammates met with the media. Allen, surveying the AT&T Center court, then spotted O.J. Mayo sitting on the opposite end of the court.
He wanted it to be known that Mayo went to a local gym and hoisted 300 shots Sunday afternoon immediately following the Grizzlies' 101-98 Game 1 victory over the San Antonio Spurs.
"That right there shows that nobody is overconfident," Allen said. "We're determined more than anything."

Veteran team pleased with its effort, return of Ginobili

The Spurs have had plenty of experience winning in the NBA playoffs.
Just look at the four league championship banners hanging from the AT&T Center rafters.
Also, the Spurs know what it's like to lose in the playoffs, especially in the opening game of a series. They've done it 27 times, including their last six playoff series, starting with Sunday's 101-98 loss to the Grizzlies, and dating back to the '08 Western Conference semifinals.
So at the Spurs' practice facility on Monday, there wasn't a hint of panic preparing for Wednesday night's Game 2, and here's why. Because the last three times the Spurs won the NBA le -- in '03, '05 and '07, -- they lost their opening-round opener.
