When Pop is asked what needed to change, he says more than once was that the Spurs need to shoot better. Not once does he say that the D needs to improve, and then says that Gasol and Randolph had great games. 2007 Pop would have been pissed that the Grizz shot 55% from the field.

I can't believe Pop and the players are saying we did a good job on D. 55%FG for the other team is a good job on D? They had only 5 off rebs because they hit every shot. I liked how RJ and Hill went after boards but D have too be much better. They need to do a better job helping each other.

40% was the lowest FG% of all the first round games, and was shot by both SAS and DAL.

the good thing is were not used to him having good ankles and he looks very quick in the video, good to see he looks like hes going to defend with his right hand away from the ball. good idea manu, im sure they would try and re-aggravate the injury

Grizzlies see ways to improve in series against Spurs

Tony Allen went into his own version of show and tell when asked how he knew the Grizzlies aren't overconfident after upsetting the Western Conference's No. 1 seed.

Allen extended his right arm and pointed to forward Zach Randolph, who was hoisting jump shots after practice Monday while teammates met with the media. Allen, surveying the AT&T Center court, then spotted O.J. Mayo sitting on the opposite end of the court.

He wanted it to be known that Mayo went to a local gym and hoisted 300 shots Sunday afternoon immediately following the Grizzlies' 101-98 Game 1 victory over the San Antonio Spurs.

"That right there shows that nobody is overconfident," Allen said. "We're determined more than anything."

The Spurs have had plenty of experience winning in the NBA playoffs.

Just look at the four league championship banners hanging from the AT&T Center rafters.

Also, the Spurs know what it's like to lose in the playoffs, especially in the opening game of a series. They've done it 27 times, including their last six playoff series, starting with Sunday's 101-98 loss to the Grizzlies, and dating back to the '08 Western Conference semifinals.

So at the Spurs' practice facility on Monday, there wasn't a hint of panic preparing for Wednesday night's Game 2, and here's why. Because the last three times the Spurs won the NBA le -- in '03, '05 and '07, -- they lost their opening-round opener.
