No more old guards/wings. He'll be 36 before the draft, for 's sake.
I like Parker, but at the same time he'd kill opportunities for Green, Anderson and Butler.
Parker can do a decent job running the point. He's still a good defender. Two things we need. He'll probably sign for the vet minimum, which fits in nicely with our cap situation. I wanted to get him here 5 years ago, and got nothing but negative comments. He was one of the best values in the league for years. I'm less crazy about him with 5 years more mileage, but he would still be worth having off the bench. Especially if the Spurs are serious about playing defense. He's smart, and he's experienced. Much rather have him at the minimum than a kid who's never likely to see any minutes.
I guess things like this have to be said these days.
