thank you.![]()
Pop saying that the doctors told him Manu can't hurt his elbow any more by playing makes Manu's chances of suiting up nearly 100%.
I would think. Then again, Pop held Duncan out in 2000 even though doctors said he couldn't hurt his knee any worse by playing. So I guess we'll see . . .
I thought the same thing when I heard it. He did stress: "I don't think". That worries me.
I wonder if Duncan's age had more to do with the decision 11 years ago... from a risk vs. reward standpoint...
Then again, Duncan required surgery for that knee injury in 2000... Manu only sprained the elbow of his non-shooting hand...
LOL @ Pop's comment at the end... "All Manu interview huh..."
Manu will play but lets hope George doesn't take a back seat now that he sees #20 out there. It's a legitimate concern and if Pop doesn't see Manu being a game changer or very effective then he could elect to go with George. George has usually stepped up to the plate in scenarios like this and after a pretty bad game 1 I would expect him to come out and play a great game if Manu can't go.
He also said he's not 100%. I don't envy the decision because I wonder if he'll help the team not being fully healed.
I'd say in this situation, he plays Manu. Duncan was way younger and Pop didn't wanna risk his career over it. Manu is 33, not getting any younger, and his injury isn't as serious as Duncan's.
