Growing up...Gervin was the best spurs player to watch...he always wowed you and you felt this confidence that the spurs were NEVER out of any games...
Some amazing performances where he could literally explode for twenty points....IN A QUARTER....
in one game Gervin scored 20 points in the first quarter...then he scored 33 in' points in the SECOND QTR---OF THE SAME GAME!!!!!!
(It helped that he had a coach who RECOGNIZED a player with a hot hand...I can see Pop watching Ice score twenty in the first qtr---and benching him for most of the 2nd...)
Gervin should be considered one of the all time greats...and it is a shame that his points from the ABA are not allowed because he would be in the conversations that you hear when they are glorifying less worthy players....
