He has zero pressure on him right now too. He'll be ridding the bench so if he does have some mental issues, you're less likely to have to worry about the too much/too soon problem. I laughed when I read this stupid article in that godawful ESPN the Magazine this year where they said he was maybe too tall to play quarterback because there is some imaginary cutoff of 6'5 or so the scouts believe in. He is like a half inch taller than Manning.

Mallet, from my understanding, needed to go somewhere that would help him to get his head on straight. Miami was eyeing him but that would've been a bad pick for the both parties with the nightlife there and uncertainty moving forward with the figure heads of the organization. Dude might even become a TE with BB as his coach, lol.
Slipping also helps in that he won't make as much money. This guy if he got a multi million dollar contract and signing bonus could get careless and party too much.
