I just wanted to offer a word of support for the fact the Spurs lost in the first round. There's so much talk that the good times are over and if they are, there's a lot to be proud of, but anytime a good thing ends, it's very bittersweet. I haven't always been a fan of the Spurs, it started in 2005 when they earned my respect in the NBA Finals. I thought they would struggle in this series, but would eventually their veteran core would win against an 8th seed and probably lose in the next round.

Unfortunately, this pain will be with you everytime a team gets a series lead on a number one seed because, as I found out in the last couple of days, they dust off the footage every time someone does this. I've seen Deke versus Kemp, Houston's runner, Baron Davis and Dirk Nowitzki hugging. It made me glad the Pistons got up off the mat in 2003. They never mentioned them.

Remember how deep the Conference is. It's no coincidence that 2 times in the last 5 seasons the top seed in the West was knocked off by an 8. We have legitimate playoff teams at the 8 spot right now. I'm sad to see that McDyess didn't get his ring with the Spurs. One of my favorite players and he failed to get it. Goodbye to him. He will be sorely missed.

Anyway, it will be a long and uncertain summer and that's if the NBA has a short work stoppage. Keep your heads up. Remember the good times and what you were doing when they happened.

Here's hoping they have one more in them before Duncan retires.

    Thanks, bro...

The West is stacked...any team 1 thru 8 can beat any other team 1 thru 8 in the first round.

That said, I'm going to take some satisfaction watching OKC all over the Grizz.

I got about $5400 riding that we do get to the finals. Everyone jumped on the Spurs and Thunder bandwagon, and it looks like our Farm Team is going to take care of both.
    Memphis just might do that...

the only problem with that is IF the grizz knock off OKC...they will also knock off the lakers.

Then you won't be so giddy.

And the anti Laker bandwagons get heavier and heavier.

Tip of the hat though for the comments on Antonio. Great guy and solid player for a LOT of years!

Thanks for the nice words Darrin. I was hoping Dice would get a ring before he packed it up, too. The guy's a warrior and I'm glad he was a Spur.

As for the Laker trolls, they don't bother me...my ignore list just keeps getting longer every day.

Now that LA has officially been skunked, I'm not as sad anymore.

I just hope Pop was watching the Mavs with how they use their size.
