is on FIRE! 37 in a row to start the year...Djokovic trails only John McEnroe's 42-0 start in 1984. He has defeated Nadal 4 times in a row including last week in Madrid final and today in Rome (BNL D'Italia Final).

Future #1 player in the world tbh

By far my favorite player out there. So glad to see him dominating the way he is. 38-0. Hopefully he gets the victory over Nadal in the French. I just wish Federer was also playing at a top level right now. It seems like we never get more than 2 players at an elite level at the same time. I'd love for there to be 4 or 5 guys in every tournament that were more than capable of winning it all.

Blown away by Berdych's loss today. But that should make Novak's draw easier!

I don't know why I have the feeling that Federer may beat Djokovic in the semis. Obviously not a thought prediction just a gut feeling.

Djokovic got a major break today, thing wasn't looking good for him. Now he'll have time to settle down and start over tomorrow, besides Del Potro is a notorious slow starter, a slow start tomorrow would mean a 2-1 deficit in sets.

i was attending the game today against Del Potro... He is ON FIRE...

I only see Soderling and Nadal capable of beating him in Rolland Garros

Novak´s QF rival retired from the tournament (Fognini from Italy, injured in yesterday´s game), so he just won another one without playing.

It doesn't count for the streak though.

Because it was a walkover, the victory won't count toward Djokovic's winning streak, which reached 43 after his fourth-round win over Richard Gasquet. If he were to break the record 46-match winning streak held by Guillermo Vilas, it would have to come after the French Open.

That's bull . Whoever lost to his oppenent in the 4th rd should have taken his place and Noval had to play..

Nah, Fognini won the right of getting quarters pts and money in the court why should the ATP take that away from him outside of it?

Not sure if I like the fact that Novak now has so many days off. May end up taking him out of the zone rather than keeping him rested.

Idemo DJoker, the historic winning streak ended at 43 . . . not bad, it had to end someday. Hopefully he will get to the well deserved #1 in the next tournament.

Hope Fed can keep it up against Nadal. Beating Rafa in the RG final would be the best victory of his career. And that's saying something.
