The cost of taking my 7 and 3yo daughters to see Madagascar today at Matinee prices. This included 2 med cokes and 1 bucket of popcorn. Unbelievable.

Yeah, the movies are expensive as all now. When I go to the Drafthouse, I can at least eat decent food for the price and have a beer. The Bijou isn't bad for that either.
But, if you're a parent with kids, you're pretty much screwed. Sorry!

You know SW admitting that you have a problem is the first step to treating it.
I haven't been to a movie theatre in about 6 months. Nothing but crap out in theatres for the past several years. When I did go I would stop by HEB or Wally World and get some sodas and candy, stash it away in my "luggage", purse.
Best investment that I have made is the $15 I spent on the movie pass @ Blockbuster.
With little kids, you can take in a diaper bag. Bonus!
, that's a uva purse....it would be great to sneak a 12 pack in...and i'm sure i could kill that in an hour and a half....but it's the fact that i'll have to piss halfway through the movie that keeps me from doing it......well...and the fact that i don't have a purse....

I have a purse I only use for the movies!
I can hide 3- 20 oz cokes plus muchies in there.
And now that I have the baby = heelo! DIAPER BAG!! Dear lord I can fit the whole 7-11 in that thing!

Best movie theatre I have been to is the Studio Movie Grill in Addison. Booze, food, and movies. Happy time
I ONLY go to the 16 theater on NW 410... it;s the "dollar show".
16 shows @ 1.50 a show = best weekend possible.
not to mention that the matinee is .75 cents and Tuesdays are .50 cents all day.
dang! I'm taking my kids tomorrow night. They can eat at home, dammit!
No kidding. I have never been so hungry as to be unable to go 1 1/2-2 hours without food.
Well, I may be able to get in free tomorrow. If so, I'll fork out the $$$$ for popcorn!

At least Silverado gives free refills on drinks so I don't have to buy a large!
OH yeah that is a sweet deal at Silverado. I hate when theyre too damn greedy to give you drink refills.
Also if you guys read the other thread about downloading music you can get some programs to download the movies. Stay at home and watch em

thats my "specialnight out/ once a year" theatre. ANd it's never overly croweded.. always clean, and doesn't smell like stale soda pop - yet.
Hence me having seen SW Episode 3 18 times now without leaving the house.
I only notice it really crowded on Friday nights. Those damn teenagers :p
I don't know how you could see Ep3 that many times I had to see it 2 times and I got enough of it. And I love SW..........can't believe I admitted that in a public area.
It was hilarious. I ordered the bucket of popcorn combo w/ 2 cokes without looking at the price. I handed the guy a $10 and he says, "Um....it's $13.25."
I'm sure he was thinking, this lady never gets out!!
