sons, this is a crying shame the treatment dirk is getting. lebron on the other hand was held, shoved, hacked and only got to the line for a total of 4 times. the best player in the world doesnt get respect! its time this issue is brought out to the public, the league simply hates him and its a shame this european idiot gets to the line 5 times more than him.

Dirk played his ass off tonight and was clearly the best player on the floor, however at least 12 of his points from the FREEBIE LINE came off of complete and utter bull calls.
Dirk is a jump shooter who gets calls that no player in the history of the NBA gets his way. Durant attacks the basket. That's why he gets calls. Dirk does not. He still gets calls against everybody but the Lakers!
Think there are preferential calls by team? Consider that Dirk shot 63 free throws against Portland in six games, but only 15 in four against LA. Does LA really just not foul....or do they get preferential treatment?
Now against the Thunder, he gets 24 foul shots without going in the paint at all !

durant/wesbrick each got almost the same count ef FTs tonite imho, can't say the refs favored dirk/mavs imho. s just fouled too much imo, i mean both teams played harsh balls.
son the same can be said about Kobe Bryant as well. both he and Dirk are jump shooters first and they both get absurd amounts of bull /phantom calls. however Kobe gets 10 times more help than Dirk has ever received.
again ... Dirk was bad ass tonight and deserves props, but realistically maybe only 35-38 of his points were legit. the rest were bull free points awarded to him by whistle happy refs.
Dirk does not attack the basket like Durant or D.Wade, yet still gets the calls. Durant basically just said this on the postgame show while being careful not to say anything to get him in trouble!
Bringing a whole other meaning to D-whistle. Gonna be fun to watch him and Wade fight it out for the rights to the name.

On offense dirk gets fouled a lot but the refs add to it with a lot of ticky-tac calls.
On defense the refs seem reluctant to call fouls on dirk. He often gets away with obvious fouls. I don't know why but it may be because dallas relies so much on the guy that the refs don't want to get him in foul trouble.
James takes way more contact than Dirk, sometimes they call the fouls and sometimes they don't. I usually think refs don't call all the contact on James because he would be at the free-throw line every time down the court. If they weren't as physical with him well he would just score.
Excellent post. It was '06 all over again tonight. Funny how Mavs fans complain to this day about the so-called treatment Wade received in the Finals, but they never had a problem with the inexplicable treatment Nowitzki received in the Spurs series.
Dirk is a 7 foot jumpshooter. Thus the only way to irritate his shot is to foul him. Otherwise, you will look silly on defense.
This happened last season too vs the Spurs, especially in Game 1. Dirk goes flailing after every fadeaway from minimal contact that he initiates to create seperation...and inexplicably gets that call. Dirk is probably the baddest man on the planet right now but I still smh after every one of those calls. doesnt need that help from refs he can dominate without those chicken calls.
I guess everybody agreed with the last foul on Ibaca. Straight up, no contact.....whistle! Nobody else gets that call!
Durant is a jumpshooter that gets alot of chicken calls too. He aint no slasher like Wade.

End yourself.
Big guys that can create their own shot and rarely miss when not pressed. It's harder to press a big guy without fouling him. Both Durant and Dirk get those calls and they are very hard to guard as you are almost forced to foul them slightly and hope the refs don't call it.
