You have to re-sign him. Have to.
Im having a argument with a friend about what should be done with the oft. injured Gregory Wayne Oden. He believes it would be best for both The organization and him to go there seperate ways, I can see what he means. but after what oden, us fans and the organization have been through you would think that maybe trying to hold onto him for another year really isnt going to hurt as much as possibly seeing him go somewhere else and flourish. while healthy 2 seasons agohe was a very big factor and was probably the most consistent player even in the limited minutes he was playing he had a notably big impact.
I had given up on the guy at the start of the season when it was announced he was down once again, but now i see camby is getting worn out and older and the fact that oden is still very young like 23 or something makes me think that the gamble could have a high reward if his body allows(knocks on wood)
Pros:
legit 7 footer
pretty good defender
excellent shot blocker
great rebounder
doesn't have man boobs
cons:
oft injured
not much of a offensive arsenal.
You have to re-sign him. Have to.
Take him behind the shed and end his misery.
You forgot to mention that he fouls out in fifteen minutes and gets severely winded when playing basketball.
during that season i mentioned he had neither of those problems. the previous years those were a issue. it will take time to get back in game shape though i imagine so i would expect him to be winded anyways for sitting for so long.
Use the next 2 month window where he isn't injured to trade him for some value...
Rj for oden...sure oden may never play but at least that worthless piece of garbage would be off the team
upgrade your physios thats the best you can do imho. you drafted him over durant that year and we've all seen what a formidable nig he turned out to be. just stick to da #1 draft despite what a flop he looks to be atm, just have faith in him imho
there's no way the blazers don't resign him. i personally think it's a lost cause but oden has so much potential it's flowing out of his kneecaps.
He's played 82 regular season games out of a possible 328. That's one patched together season out of four.
Sometimes, they make glue out of young horses who go lame.
Build a statue of him in front of the arena, in a suit sitting on the bench.
Send him to the retirement home.
they will tender him a contract. its about 8 million. have fun with the 1 yr contract
