Nothing quite like your first time aye....![]()

Hey we had TWO western conference championship trophies!

It feels weird, like there's still some juggernaut team we have to play that will beat us. The Dallas Mavericks are the best team in basketball?
I cant hate this is great ... and tbh, what you feel is probably sweeter since it's the first for your franchise ...welcome to the "fraternity" ...now you can scoff at the suns, hornets and Grizz fans ....
Gotta make room for one more at this big boy table....I dislike the Mavs but I respect the out of them right now, and will openly say that all those guys went out and got what they DESERVED.....
Enjoy it, fellas.
Always good to see the team you've rooted for year-in and year-out ring. Again, I send my congrats to you Mavs fans. Now you can run DFW for the forseeable future with football probably not happening and the NBA in a precarious spot as well!
I'll admit that I didn't pick the Mavericks to win a single series this postseason. Congratulations to the Mavs and their fans because there's no better feeling in sports than the one you are a part of today. Go buy the memorabilia. Cheer at a bar or your televsion as they make their victory addresses at the parade. Watch next year as they defend the crown (please, let's have a next year). You won the last game of the season. Remember, only 9 teams have won a le in the last 30 years (Mavericks, Lakers, Celtics, Spurs, Heat, Pistons, Bulls, Rockets, and Sixers). Before yesterday, it was 8. Dirk Nowitzki just joined an elite group by winning one. The 50-win seasons and the 2006 playoff run will look at little better, not taste as bitter, because you have this le to hang your hat on. Walk around town a little prouder.
And remember, they may say 4>1, but everytime you see that think of 41 and all the fun you had with your first NBA le. I've only lived through one. I remember how things smelled and looked, what I was thinking, the feelings, and I smile every time I think about it. Think of the people you were around, what you were doing, when they won it. Make memories in the next couple of days. At the end of the day there are a couple of things you'll remember about your fandom. If you're like me, you'll remember where you were during your first game as a fan, a lot of the heartache after bitter losses, and what it was like to be NBA Champions. This is a fleeting thing, this success. Dirk will not be here forever, and neither will the days as reigning Champions. These times are hard to come by. Only a select few have felt it. And today, Dallas fans, you are one of the few.
We all envy you right now. We wanted it for our team, and you guys got it! If you want, start telling your stories of where and what you were doing when the Mavericks became NBA CHAMPIONS!
You're ing up the symmetry of the thread, Darrin. Everyone kept their take to a couple sentences, do likewise you conceited asshat
give him break John he knows the Pistons won't sniff a le game for 1000 yrs....frustrated like a mutha er...
Laker fans STILL butthurt over '04? Move ON, guys...
