True, those should be ripped from the books. Especially 1999. A lockout-shortened season sandwiched between 2 dynasties. 1999 is a skidmark on the underpants of the NBA
The Mav's championship is unfortunately tainted due to cir stances beyond the Heat's control. With DWade getting injured early in the series there has to be an asterisk next to this year's champion similar to the Spur's championship run in 1999 with the lockout situation.
The Mavs are a mediocre team who had a pretty easy run to the finals with injuries to almost all of the opposing teams' players throughout the playoffs. The impending lockout next year pretty much made the top teams in the West (Rockets,Spurs,Lakers) disinterested in playing compe ively at all. Combine that with the Wade injury and you have a sub par team as your "NBA Champion".
Hopefully we can omit this year from the history books and look forward to a more compe ive 2011-2012 season.

yeah can't agree more tbh. the rockets should've finished 2nd and they would have closed out dem mavs early in the 2nd round. the rockets just struggled with some bad injuries throughout the season, especially the injury to their franchise player Mr. e- the 2nd greatest player in team's history!!!
with Mr. e healthy the Rockets would have got da #2 seed easily
Even if 99 was removed from the annals of NBA history, Manu still "outrings" Dirk, 3-1.
