Dunno. "Easy candidate wins" seldom come easy.
that can most likely get the GOP nomination actually want it? Most times, the parties have their leading candidates already picked prior to campaigning but not this year. Now, wether you would actually vote for this person is not the question. The GOP is so leaderless right now, it's open season and they may actually have a chance to beat Obama if he runs for a 2nd term.
Ron/Ran Paul - Well Ron is running but no network gives him the time of day and they set him up on the debate with the drug question, plus he comes off as a whiney old man. Ran Paul has more of a leadership quality about him plus the name so I'm sure he can get votes if he ran.
Trump - Like it or not, he has leadership skills and that seems to be important for voters, repubs are begging this guy to run.
Huckabee - This guy had a close call with McCain and with this current group of candidates would be #1
McCain - Whatever happened to this old windbag? His name alone could get him nominated among these losers currently running
Bizaro world.
Why doesn't ANY repub that could pull an easy candidate win, actually RUN!?? This GOP election is wide ing open for the taking if anyone with reasonable status would actually run.
Dunno. "Easy candidate wins" seldom come easy.
btw, from that list Huckabee and Trump have already begged off.
That's my point, they could have it, but they don't want it now?
Interesting take.
Mine is that Huckabee couldn't raise big bucks and Trump failed to convince anyone beside you and WC that he was a serious candidate.
Huck knew he was going to get his ass kicked and Trump didn't like someone standing up to him (e.g., Obama).
McCain is busy blaming the Arizona wildfires on illegal immigrants.
I saw that last night. I don't know if the illegals should be more offended because they're being blamed for it, or because McCain insinuated they're sending smoke signals to each other.
Serious about running - no.
Good for the job - yes.
Those who would make a good president don't want the job. They can have a better life and make more money working in the free market rather than the government.
so.....they don't care about their country. got it. finally someone said it.
Huntsman threw his hat in the ring today, but I'm not sure he's any better/different than anyone else already out there. He's certainly the most experienced when it comes to foreign policy, imo, but I don't think he has the brand recognition to go very far.
No way I'm voting for Barry, no way I'm voting for any of these repubs based on what I've seen so far (unless Paul wins the nomination which isn't happening).
A sad stable, to be sure
Huntsman isn't bat extremist enough for the the Repug base.
Barry certainly has been a huge disappointment, but he's still better than the inevitable asshole the Repugs are going to nominate.
Add Doug Christie, forgot about him. Repub party begging him to run but his fat ass won't. He would get the nominee for sure but doesn't want it either.
Huntsman is pro-choice, supports the sexual agenda, and believes in man-made global climate change. He's not a conservative, and shouldn't even be in the running for the Republican nomination!
Then, on Sunday, McCain stepped in front of a camera and blamed the Airzona wildfires on illegal immigrants. “There is substantial evidence that some of these fires are caused by people who have crossed our border illegally,” he said. “They have set fires because they signal others, they have set fires to keep warm, and they have set fires in order to divert law enforcement agents and agencies from them.”

My apologies to Huntsman (not that he reads this) - he's not pro-choice. I misspoke and confused him with someone else.
I was about to ask how the he got elected to any office in Utah.
Damn, for a second I was thinking Huntsman might be my guy based on CS's initial review...
I think Perry is going to run and get the nomination. There is simply no electable Republican in the race right now and his people (and the GOP) know it. This may have been the plan from the beginning anyway. There's no reason anyone has to announce their candidacy this early.
Everyone currently in the race is a distraction.
Yeah - he's a devout Mormon, so it would be out of character for him to be pro-choice.
He must also be in favor of banning caffeine then.
Doug Christi? WTF? For President? You really want that crazy ass wife of his as First Lady?
So if he gets the nomination, you voting for him.........![]()
Obama will be so unpopular by 2012 that anyone will be able to beat him.
