Spurs are the #1 franchise in fan relations and player likability. They rank #2 in honesty and loyalty from ownership & #2 for coaching (CIA Pop!).

One area I disagree with is TTR, le Track. Um, 4 championships guys?

Spurs are the best franchise in the NBA.

Hopefully that changes with new CBA. With Holt running the show, you have to think it'll be easier for small market teams to sign good free agents. Will help the Spurs/Thunder. Rookies want to play with Spurs to say they've had that experience and cash in elsewhere.

You'd think that some of the vets we'd like to sign have made enough $$$$$$$$$$ and would like to come play for our team if we're such a quality organization with a good chance to win it all... I guess money still talks..

the spend thriftiness of Holt, et al., is why this franchise will be gone in 5 yrs b/ it can no longer compete f/ les b/c it doesn't freakishly win the lottery when a franchise player is up for grabs. Attendance will begin dropping and the economics of a cheap FO keeping a team here isn't viable.

Now, maybe there's an international billionaire out there who has the insight of seeing what the Spurs accomplished with a cheap ownership group btwn the DRob and TDuncan eras. And maybe his guy sees the repeats and possible threepeats that could have occurred had the Spurs had a billionaire owner willing to spend what it took to keep the core players surrounded by the right role players. And maybe he sees the economics of owning a pro franchise that is the only game in town. And maybe he sees the possibility of putting together, in a small market le town like S.A., a young team of NBA allstars who have non-egos and some humble characteristics like DRob and TD and Manu that would keep the magic going for another 10-15+ years. Guess that may all be contingent on what the new CBA looks like, and if the NBA can get rid of mr. greedy david stern.
