I prefer Ryu's strength and quicker hadouken recovery over Ken's quickness and superior shoryuken. Akuma is probably better than both, but I still use Ryu.
I like Guile, Dhalsim, and Fei Long a lot too.

Sagat may actually be the best character through the whole series
a good Sagat user is a complete pain in the ass, because he has a perfect counter-attack for anything and everything.
This. I actually moved from Akuma to Sagat as far as Street Fighter went, and in SNK vs Capcom, I had a team of just Sagat and King, and /damn/ was it effective.

Guile, man if you mastered his sonic boom and flash kick you could keep a an opponent in the corner a while. At least in the older games. Still used him in mvc2. I never played mvc3 heard he wasn't in that one. Dam shame..
Apparently you guys haven't seen the new SF, yun and yang are the best fighters.
I like Guile a lot. IMO, hes a great defensive-type character. He has the double sweep which keeps ground-attacking opponents away, his sonic boom has almost no lag time which makes him able to both keep opponents away, and if they jump over it, he can recover fast enough for a quick counter punch. Then the flash kick makes it nearly impossible to attack him in the air.
People who like to play a defensive minded counter-attack style, should definitely use Guile. That is how I usually like to play, and when I play others, they are always the most annoying for me to face, because at that point, it pretty much turns into a contest of the first guy to make a mistake gets ed.
Yeah, my main guy is Ryu, but if there is a character I would consider switching to full time, its Sagat. His high/low fireballs compliment each other well, as well as the uppercut/knee.
