In Game 1, the Spurs set an NBA record for biggest win over a defending champion in the NBA Finals. Tonight, they re-set the record.

    This team is scary good.

Best team in Spurs history, bar none.

They not only broke it, they destroyed it.

    Not really..

if they would've destroyed it, it would've been a 30 point win or something.

How good could they be next year, when Nazr has a whole year under his belt and Barry has the usuall shooters slump year behind him? (every imported shooter seems to have the first year be a bad one)

Guys, what makes you think the Spurs are gonna dominate?

Look at the Suns, they completely changed a team in the Summer..

What makes you think that can't happen again with another team? You never know...

Don't think Dynasty yet.. lets win this one first..

I'm loving the idea of adding Scola to the bench next year.

And maybe... just maybe... a prepared Glenn Robinson. That would be one sick bench.

    Spurs set another record too:

The 33-0 differential in 3 point points is a new record as well.

Also the 146 pts given up in first 2 games is 2nd all time in points allowed to their record 144 they gave up in games 1 and 2 in 1999 to the Knicks.

I say Dynasty, because this is their 3rd championship in 7 yrs and there will surely be at least 3 more in next 4 yrs, given that they will have the same key players signed on for the next 5-6 yrs.

the Suns almost get swept and got embarrassed by these Spurs. They haven't proved anything to me.

The Spurs need a few replacements in the coming years, and I can't figure out who they can be.
Who is going to replace Bowen? That guy is just unbelievable, and him not getting the DPoY is an atrocity.
Who is going to replace Horry? The guy who pull up key defensive stops, a guy who can guard the opposition's low post threat, AND can drill timely three pointers on the other end. Say all you want, but with no Horry, the Lakers would not have won 3 straight championships, and the Spurs' road to the finals this year would have to be a lot harder.

Scola will replace Horry in body, but not in experience which is invaluable.

Bowen is good for a few more yrs.

If Brown gets healthy, then he could be a great defensive player as well.

Beno is looking like a keeper too.

yep, Spurs players, plus Pop's/Spurs' system, looks pretty damn fortified and impregnable right now.

Spurs still have to kill the ghost of last May and do something destructively convincing in Detroit.

There have been some threads about comparing this team to 1999 and 2003. I've been a little careful to rank them above 1999 because that team had so much confidence and heart that you just knew they'd win, even if down in the 4th.

But this team is a developing buzzsaw. They may still lose a game or two, but my GOD they played well last night. Slow one guy down a little (Duncan) and someone else (Bowen) steps up. If they win the championship, these guys are the best, hands down.

Manu is putting this team a cut above any other, the second superstar. If the teams from 1999 on had a Manu given this much freedom and palying at this level we'd be looking at about six straight les. No fourth quarter melt downs in LA.

I guess they are talking about this guy......didnt know he was going to be a Spur

    Luka Bogdanovic
    Small Forward
    6"9" 215
    Scouting Report
Has been called Yugoslavia's best scorer. A great shooter and scorer. Luka is a gifted, though slightly built wing forward, with a super consistent shooting touch. He has also shown very good court sense and vision which makes some people wonder if he could handle the point guard spot.

The Lakers could have said the same thing about the Spurs in 2001. Look what happened two years later.

You mean to tell me Hedo should not have started ahead of Manu???

Warning (possible Taruky sighting): Somewhere out there taruky will feel a dip in the Hedo apprecia-meter and will feel compeled to come out and defend his boy...
