Africa has 5 teams (which is why they have 2 rounds, since there are 10 initial groups)
Alright here is my Pre-Qualification (I know it already started for some teams who will soon be eliminated) Prediction on the 32 (hard to predict the final 5 Euro teams bc of they way their qualification works, but I tried):
Africa (5)
Côte d'Ivoire
Nigeria
Ghana
Egypt
Burkina Faso
Asia (4.5)
Japan
Australia
South Korea
North Korea
(Iran loses to Peru in play-in)
Oceania (0.5)
None (NZ Loses to Costa Rica in play-in)
Europe (13)
Croatia
Italy
Germany
Netherlands
Slovenia
Portugal
Slovakia
England
Spain
France
Norway
Russia
Belgium
North/Cental America (3.5)
Mexico
United States
Honduras
Costa Rica (beats New Zealand in play-in)
South America (4.5+H)
Brazil
Argentina
Uraguay
Venezuela
Chile
Peru (beats Iran in play-in)
Edit: Had one too many Euro teams so I took out Greece.

for Europe, 13 spots for the WC. 1st of each group and there's elimination games for the 8 best 2nd).
France wasn't a top seed, so they ended up with spain.
Africa 5 and South America 4.5 is a travesty. I would argue that Central/North America having 3.5 is also a travesty. It needs to be Africa 4, Central/North America 4, South America 5.
Ireland, Poland, Sweden, Paraquay and Columbia aren't any good?
I was between Columbia and Peru. Paraguay's inability to mount an attack in the knockout stages of the Copa made me pick the others ahead of them.
Europe could have 20 slots and we could still find teams who are deserving.
And, of course, it's the summer of 2011.
Eh, I know CONCACAF really fought for the extra .5, but I think 3.5 is about right. I think New Zealand really kind of gets screwed and Oceania should just be with Asia.
Paraguay instead of Venezuela. Paraguay is usually in.
Sweden instead of Norway? Ireland instead of Belgium?
I really like Belgium. Young, up and coming team. I think they'll embarass the US next month.
where's cameroon scott?
it's not easy to predict who is coming out of the African zone
Only the 1st team of each group qualifies to the 2nd round
Then there is another draw that results in 5 groups
Then only the 1st team of each group goes to the WC
Plus, road games are really tough for the top african teams, even vs the supposedly bad teams; ty conditions, ty ty officiating
true....the only real guarantee is Cote D'Ivoire. Cameroon learned the hard way after not qualifying for the '06 world cup. I really don't see Cameroon out of the Brazil unless they play like they did in South Africa.
how do the .5's work?
Half teams, like Canada, Malawi, Lichtenstein
South America should have 5 teams automatically in that's BS
Asia for example will have 3 or a max of 4 teams will make it out of that region. Hence the 0.5 because of the uncertainty.
any team from Oceania pretty much
Apparently it's elimination games... .5 vs .5's...
is this correct?
