    o all,

Haven't visited in a bit. I'm fresh off of a convention (AAPM) in Vancouver. Gorgeous as always. If you haven't been, you're definitely missing out. Stanley Park and the windmill (forgot the name) on top of the mountain are "must see's/do's".

At any rate, here is the article. It struck me as quite interesting.

In a spectacle that might have beguiled poets, lovers and songwriters if only they had been around to see it, Earth once had two moons, astronomers now think. But the smaller one smashed into the other in what is being called the "big splat."

i call bull , if it smash then wouldnt there be evidence of large craters the size of the imploded moon, hence when two objects collide....explain why it ends in a sphere shape? gtfo

Ya, don't believe that either. Wouldn't we have a ring like Saturn?

Failing to click on the link is fail. Only the near side of the moon is like a cueball. It was the weirdness/iregularity of the dark side that led to the theory.

If you can believe the earth is "4" Billion years old and Man evolved from a monkey....
then believing in two moons should not be a problem.

Nor should believing that we've landed on it's surface.

    BB on point.

Mouse, things change with scale. I don't know if the article has merit or not, but if two moons existed and became one, gravitational attraction favors a sphere, just like all other moon to planet sized objects are.

These fools can't even explain how Stonehenge was built and they have the nerve to say what took place millions of years ago?

You really don't care what evolution is, do you? How many times have you made this claim?

Isn't funny when simple minded people discredit science with knee-jerk logic? Actually... it's frustrating more than anything.

doesnt make a difference, humans will continue to trash the place and mine the out of it and pollute it

i was watchin the keannu reeves movie, the day the earth stood still....humans will only change when the hits the fan and the only last remaining choice...fck that , the damage done even if you decide to change the we live will not change back or scale back the damage that has already been done...lol humans crying why the animals were gettin save and not them...

I forget the movie name, but there was a late 60's maybe early 70's movie, where an astronaut went to a planet on the opposite side of the sun in the same orbit the earth is in. Anyway, once he got there, everyone thought he failed his mission. Thing is, he completed it. Everything was backwards, there was a mirrored earth on the other side of the sun!

Anyone remember the le? I'd love to watch it again if it's available.
