All the cool kids are starting one of these, so I'll follow along.

Go Bills...hope they can make it to at least Week 7 this time without being mathematically eliminated from playoff contention.

All depends on how the offensive, defensive line and linebackers gel. Those are the team's weakest positions and they'll determine how well the team does. I've got a ton of confidence in Fitz, Evans, Johnson, Jackson, Spiller and the secondary. The team is one or two solid drafts away from contending. Also, I'm hoping that Merriman somehow rejuvenates his career, no PED's included.

Our lines have been the weak spots for almost a decade. The offensive line has been especially atrocious since the days of Flutie and Robosack

Their offensive line looked like it was getting good again till they traded away Peters. It's been a giant abortion since.

Peters was one of my favorites. I remember wanting the Bills to draft him in the 3rd-4th round coming out of college--loved the idea of a 310 lbs TE

He went undrafted but the Bills still picked him up and he was a good ST player his first year. After that he was converted to OT and killed it. Then came time for payday, but the Bills and their jewish ways would have none of it.

Hey since they no longer have Vernon Gholston, might as well pick up Vernon Gholston pt. 2

He's somehow managed to be worse than Gholston. 220-lbs (6-4 in height) linebacker in a 3-4

I still don't understand how Gholston or Maybin hasn't recorded one single sack so far in their careers. There shoulda been at least a few plays where protection ed up and they had an untouched path to the QB.

  10. #10
Maybin -- nicknamed "Maybe" by some disappointed fans -- struggled to keep his weight up while with the Bills and appeared in only 11 games last season, inactive for five straight.
Sounds like a witty fanbase. The Lefty Crew should fire out some recruiting letters to the nearest Bills forum. Maybe schedule some in house visits. Offer them a tour of the Spurstalk campus etc.

Tbh Von Miller is the next Gholston/Maybin. Idk why teams fall in live with these 230 lbs. OLB/DE hybrids coming out of college who have no technique/rush moves and get by off sheer speed and waist top 10 picks on them. DeMarcus Ware is basically the exception, most DE/OLB hybrids taken with high picks disappoint.

It's why year after year when people want BB to take one of them with his 1st round pick, he doesn't because that much guaranteed money for that big a mystery is stupid.

I think too many teams are high on the 3-4 package despite not having the personnel to play it. You can't have small LB's in that defense, they'll get crushed. The Steelers and Ravens do it effectively because they have massive linebackers who are also good edge rushers. Harrison, Woodley, Timmons...Lewis, Suggs, etc. If you don't have the size in the LB corps, then you best have 1 or 2 big DT/DE's clogging things up like Wilfork, Ngata, Hampton, etc etc.

Yeah exactly, they're high on a package they know nothing about. Look at successful 3-4 teams (Pittsburgh, New England), their OLBs are guys who weigh 260-270ish and also guys who didn't contribute immediately, it took them years to become a complete 3-4 OLB. OLB in the 3-4 is a position that's just as much about intelligence/technique as it is sheer athleticism.

It's why as a bills fan I was thrilled when Denver said they were taking miller and not dareus. I think miller is purely a pass rush specialist...many considered dareus tue best player in the draft and the team with the worst d line passes on him.

    I lol'd

Dareus looked beastly against the Bears in limited action...dude's gonna be great. W/ Merriman rushing off the edge our pass rush will finally be back

Yeah Von Miller and Elvis Dumervil might make a great pass rush off the edge but they are both horrid against the run. Denver taking Miller made absolutely no sense.

This team is almost 30 mil under the cap and they're still doing NOTHING to address the gaping holes on the right side of the O-line.

Urbik and Pears are complete garbage and wouldn't start for a ing CFL team. I don't see the harm in bringing Stinchcomb and McKinnie in to battle for RT, and maybe old vet Brian Waters for RG. Stinchcomb has injuries issues, but was a pro-bowler in 2009. McKinnie is fat as right now, but is not far removed from being an elite LT. Put him at RT where he's less of a liability, till he gets in game shape. Waters is 34, but he's a 5-time Probowler and a definite upgrade over that turnstile Urbik.

There's absolutely no risk in bringing these guys in on 1-year deals. ing Bills FO...first they trade Lee Evans for a box of dildos, then they continue to neglect the O-line. The Suck for Luck sweepstakes is officially under way in B-lo

I was actually in favor of the Evans trade...I loved watching him play but he has to be one of the least versatile players in the league, all he can do is run straight down the field lol. Plus they have some young guys like Nelson and jones who I am anxious to see. Also Easley but he's gotta stay healthy.

I actually don't think pears is TOO bad. He could definitely be upgraded but urbik is complete dog . Rinehart should be replacing him, not Levitre.

Clearly playoffs are out of the question but I could see 6 or 7 wins. If they were in any other divisionthey might be around 9.

Yeah Evans didn't have a lot to his game, but the guy was a burner who could've put up much better stats had his main QB's not been Edwards and Losman. I still think we could've finagled a 3rd rounder for him, imho.

As for the OL, I agree completely about Rinehart at RG...He took some first-team snaps at LG for a day and looked good (which means he can obviously play RG then)...Rinehart's a big dude (weighs 40 more lbs than Levitre), and he's got a dirty side to him which you need for interior lineman. As for Pears, I'm not sold at all right now. I would really like us to bring in some vet tackles to at least compete during the preseason. If he beats them out, so be it--but don't just hand the guy the job when he's proven nothing.

I'm also not sold on our WR's. "Anxious" was probably the correct choice of words, rather than excited. I really wanna see Easley, but the dude holds the ball like a loaf of bread.

Bills look like they might sign T.J. Houshmanzadeh...basically a swap with the Ravens for Evans at the end of the day. He's not a deep threat, but a good possession receiver with some size. Him and Stevie would be a decent duo.
