5.9 Eartquake in central VA.
How big was it, and how far away was the center?

5.9 Eartquake in central VA.
That's a good size one for the east coast.
Any idea how structures are around the epicenter?
Not yet. They're saying it was 9 miles south of Mineral, Va.
Quake was 3.7 miles deep.
What would have been twice as scary is if it had hit a few days later just as Hurricane Irene skirts along the NE coast...
maybe perry will organize another prayer session.
My monitor was shaking over here...
I thought it was something Wild Cobra said, but no, it was the earthquake.
Wall St porker Chris Christie sat on his toilet too violently
The epicenter of the earthquake was apparently just a few miles away from North Anna Nuclear Power Plant.
My coworkers felt it here in central PA, but I was in the elevator at the time and didn't feel a thing.
Don't you know there are a lot of coal miners out there that need new underwear...
Conservatives Can't Decide If Obama Was Too Busy Golfing Or Biking To Stop The Earthquake

It will soon turn political, watch.
Boutons...
Don't you think you should verify before posting?
You know somethings fishy when a site like Media matters doesn't care to give us the link, and even edits it. Here it is:
Earthquake Rattles Washington DC – Obama Goes Biking
Do I see a little misrepresentation?
According to the AP, he was biking
In that forum, it's more than an hour later someone says he's golfing. Both can be true without him being in two places at once.
I wonder how many liberals are in that forum too? By reading the comments, there are obviously some.

lol WC attempting to spin this politically
How do you know the original page wasn't edited after the mediamatters post?
Do I see a little blatant partisan hypocrisy?
No, I'm not spinning it at all. It's the Media Matters that is. All I am doing is pointing out there are two stories, and because some said he was biking, and some said he was golfing, is just repeating what they read or heard on the radio or TV. There is an AP article saying he was riding a bike, and it came with that picture of him and his daughter. I've been looking for it, but can't find it now. Maybe it was edited, because the articles I find with that picture now say he was golfing too. A CNN article saying he was golfing. It doesn't matter what he was going. You ankle biters seem to latch on to anything trivial, trying to say conservatives can't decide?
Wow... Just wow...
I dug a little deeper into the Drudge archives. There is the one with the Golf story. Drudge just lists various stories in a convenient place to find them. It was CNN's story.
Drudge Archive 8/23/11 183258
The golf link:
Earthquake shuts down Virginia nuclear plant
Time on this article is 04:06 PM ET. This was updated with a link in the story to the main story:
Virginia earthquake rattles East Coast
This one appears to be updaing too, the time I see is August 24, 2011 6:28 a.m. EDT. In this story is:
I'll bet that part was there when Drudge had the link. The quake was also reported to have been felt on the island of Martha's Vineyard, where President Barack Obama was playing golf. He did not feel the earthquake, according to the White House.
Now this story says he was doing both that day.Obama, family bike and beach on Martha's Vineyard
You just need to connect the dots... Obama biking... earthquake...
The earthquake was caused by Obama biking!
And you "don't have time" to answer simple, direct questions.![]()
Republicans wanted a 5.8 earthquake, but Obama only wanted a 3.4. So they compromised.
