Custom PC builder Digital Storm is touting a technological leap forward with its new Cryo-TEC cooling system, promising to deliver a smaller, more powerful liquid chilled system that will keep your processor temperatures positively frosty.

Based on its Sub-Zero Liquid Chilled system, Digital Storm's new Cryo-TEC Cooling System incorporates direct contact heat dissipation -- placing the processor in direct contact with the system's thermo-electric cold plate. Digital Storm says the result is a more efficient cooling system that lowers processer temps below zero-degrees celsius and increases overclocking performance.

Digital Storm let this Cryo-TEC cooled processor sit for 10 minutes as a demonstration. A thick layer of frost began to form as the thermo-electric cold plates dropped the temps on the copper side below 0C. And yes, the CPU socket is fully insulated from condensation.

"With its brilliant simple design and complete compatibility, the Cryo-TEC system represents the next technological leap in processor cooling systems," Digital Storm's Rajeev Kuruppu said in a statement. "It out-classes and out-performs standard liquid cooling systems with its incredible design and it can only be found exclusively at Digital Storm."

Digital Storm is offering the new Cryo-TEC cooling system in most of its full-tower computers for less than $500. Check Digital Storm's website for details
