"The Justice Department is blocking AT&T's $39 billion deal to buy T-Mobile USA, saying the acquisition of the No. 4 wireless carrier in the country by No. 2 AT&T would reduce compe ion and raise prices. The deal has faced tough opposition from consumer groups and No. 3 carrier Sprint since it was announced in March."

The DOJ has released a full statement on their decision to file the an rust suit, and AT&T has drafted a response. So much for AT&T's paltry promise of bringing 5000 unskilled call center jobs back to the US if the merger were approved. Compe ion may yet live!

    Cool...

    I don't like AT&T, want to stay T-Mobile.

Unskilled call centers? That musty mean my customer representatives are skilled. They are already in the USA for T-Mobile. Can't AT&T bring back call centers without the merger?

IMO, disgusting how they try to leverage the '5000 jobs' to get that reamed down the consumer's throat. It's ing blackmail. Everybody knows they would cut over 5K jobs as part of the merger + those jobs wouldn't last a year here.

Nice to see that the DOJ an rust division has found something to take their mind off of ignoring the reduction in compe ion that's occurred in the financial sector the last 3 years...................
