The Mavs won their championship in a season with no asterisks. And they still have that championship. It will always be there.

Does this mean another Lakers sweep in the playoffs?
I think it's funny how it's called the "asterisk championship" by Phil, who got his healthy players destroyed by Pop's healthy players. If anything, a regular finals championship has more asterisks than a shortened season championship, due to several injuries throughout the season and or playoffs that would jeopardize a le run or would limit the teams full potential.
If the Lakers would have won, with a sweep on the Spurs, it would been the most epic victory, with countless Lakers fans bringing up the points I just brought up.

It sounds ridiculous yes, it does, but I'm just proving a point. Everyone knows a big part of the NBA is durability, and injuries happen to the best of em. But think about it, a post season when every player is spry, and healthy, playing at their peak, I can't understand how that warrants an asterisk, or can be classified as an illegitimate championship.

That's true, but it's the same team. Shows what a good coach he was, to have such an immediate impact. But anyways, the Lakers still got swept by the Spurs, the original skunker.

The Lakers have gone through skunkers before 1***. There's when they got swept in 83 and in 89, sweeps that they have not recouped from Philadelphia and Detroit yet.

Stripping NCAA les, Heismans, etc. Is horse . Saying a team won in a weak era or year ... is crap too. all you can do is beat all the teams you face and if you do (unless its NCAA football) you win the le no * ...
