We keep hearing from the Church of D-Rob that he had no help around him, yet the Spurs still managed to win 50+ games in multiple seasons. So let me get this straight, he was good enough to get one of the top seeds in the West year after year, but he wasn't good enough to beat lower seeded teams?
90-91 (55 wins): lost to GSW in 1st round despite HCA
93-94 (55 wins): lost to Utah in 1st round despite HCA
94-95 (62 wins): lost to Houston in the WCF despite HCA. Finished 0-3 at home in the series.
95-96 (59 wins): lost to Utah in WCSF despite HCA.
96-97: embellished an injury to land #1 pick
99-00 (53 wins): lost to Phoenix despite HCA. To be fair, the true team leader was injured.
David Robinson squandered 285 games of hard work because he couldn't protect his home court. We can only hope he's paid the Spurs back at least some of the money he stole from them over the years.
Shameful.

My biggest problem with D-Rob was his relationship with Dennis Rodman... I think they could have won with him, but D-Rob wouldn't have any of his 'shenanigans'. I think if he had just been a professional about it, they could have made the Finals...
This is true. That's a pretty formidable frontcourt but D-Rob's ego just wouldn't make it work.
Shameful.
I haven't done any research to support this. But it seemed like he always missed crucial free throws.

I see the new trend is trying to bag on David Robinson. Like anybody gives a what you lifeless idiots think about a player on another franchise.
You guys need to find better to do with your time. From what I can tell, these posts aren't pissing off Spurs fans....you're just trolling yourselves.
history of failure![]()
Do you dispute the results I posted in the OP?
I see the David Stern mandated LOB, but where are their Bronze medals? They both should be honored to have lead their team to an Olympic medal. Many true HOFers never did that.
Do you any pics of those medals they earned through blood sweat and tears, or do i have to google it?![]()
lkrfan/magua choose a gold medal over an nba le![]()
Kobe wouldn't. He's greedy - he'll take both.![]()
Are you in' re ed or something?
Dude retired 8 years ago wgaf about D-Rob anymore, get a new schtick
That said I can't really disagree David did fail in the playoffs![]()
Lol. The AIDS ridden body of Magic Johnson didn't lead in '92. He made the team on his name and because he was something of a diplomat for American basketball. Barkley was far and away the best player on that team. As for Kobe "I didn't do the entire Olympics outside of a 4 point play" Bryant, what exactly did he lead the team in besides shot attempts?
Oh, you must be referring to the example Kobe set for his teammates with that vaunted "Doberman Defense." From a Lakers fanboy:
"USA Rolls Over Angola and How I'm Not a Fan of Olympic Kobe"
I'm not a big fan of Olympic Kobe. In fact, I'm very close to saying that Olympic Kobe might be... this is tough to say especially as a nine-year Lakers season ticket holder... Olympic Kobe might be overrated.
We heard last summer how much of an influence Kobe had on Team USA. Players raved about his tenacity and training regimen in practice. We especially heard (and continue to hear constantly) about his defensive intensity and that he dove for a lose ball in the first minute of the Tournament of the Americas last summer in Vegas. Kobe was supposed to bring a type of swagger and confidence that Team USA has lacked over the past six years. He was to dominate Team USA on their way to the gold.
So far he's shooting an atrocious 1-15 from beyond the arc against Angola and China. And instead of driving the lane and establishing some sort of offensive rhythm with a few easy hoops, Kobe simply passed off many uncontested layups and dunks.
Plus his defense has been worse. Instead of breaking out a "not while I'm on the floor" lock-down defense that was hyped last summer, Kobe's been sagging heavily off his man and cheating in the passing lanes (a lazy defense in my opinion). This may work in the NBA but not against teams like Spain, Germany and Argentina where players 1-12 can hit outside J's with consistency. And the few times Kobe did choose to man-up the ball-handler, he was too close and got beat off the dribble. Basically he underestimated his opponent's skill with the ball.

Fernandez worked his ass in the Gold Medal game.
B-B-But he hit a 4 point play

I'll give you one more chance to pull yourself out of the massive hole you're in before I completely make a fool out of your mongoloid ass.
Someone here needs to do more research, less typing.
Yea, Robinson sucked, what a moron that guy was. We all know he couldn't play basketball.
Thank God we all have Kobe, he's the best!!!
