Steven Seagal Becomes Hudspeth County Sheriff's Deputy.

HUDSPETH COUNTY, Texas -- He is best known for his starring roles in action movies. Now Steven Seagal has a new le: Sheriff's deputy of west Texas.

Seagal was sworn in as deputy earlier this week in Hudspeth County just east of El Paso.

Officials said Sheriff Arvin West administered that oath.

The Sheriff's Office said Seagal contacted them back in August about work opportunities.

He has been deputy before. He filmed a reality show when he worked as an officer of the law in Jefferson County, La.

Sheriff West told the Associated Press, "It became clear to me that Mr. Seagal is not in this for his celebrity or publicity. He is like the rest of us."

hudspeth county! Nothing but dirt roads, a small ass courthouse, a small ass jail, and a bunch of bs cops there, nothig else. I visited their jail for one night and one day about 7 yrs ago. That place is literally on earth, nothing is there but dirt.
