Mark Sanchez is not a good NFL QB.
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...ing-jets-line/The sniping inside the Jets’ locker room continues.
Jets receiver Santonio Holmes told reporters that the blame for the offensive struggles lies squarely on the offensive line, and now Jets guard Brandon Moore is telling reporters that Holmes ought to shut his mouth.
“It’s disrespectful,” Moore said. “Guys work hard. To put your teammates out to dry, guys you work with every day so on Sundays you can have productive day, that’s not really being a leader. That’s not being a captain.”
Moore said he went to Holmes privately when Holmes had previously bad-mouthed the offensive line, and since that didn’t work he now thinks it’s OK to do his talking with Holmes through the media.
“I talked to him after the last time he did it the week after the Baltimore game and he didn’t see anything wrong with it,” Moore said. “I don’t know what he thinks about me; I don’t deal with him, and I probably won’t deal with him after this.”
Although Jets coach Rex Ryan and quarterback Mark Sanchez have both indicated that they want players to keep their complaints in-house, Moore hinted that he thinks someone told Holmes to go ahead and come forward with his critique of the offensive line.
“But apparently he’s allowed to say whatever he wants to around here now,” Moore said. “Apparently someone around here told him that it’s OK to do that because he keeps doing it.”
Moore, who’s been with the Jets for nine years, added, “I’ve just never seen anything like this.”
True and he's way too passive. An offensive lineman and a wide receiver on the same team getting in a public measuring contest would never happen on a team where the QB is a leader.
If captain lardass wasn't the coach of the Jets, I don't know if this would be as funny as it is now. Probably so.
Lardass has done a pretty good job keeping the Jets compe ive last year and the year before. Two straight trips to the AFC championship IMO is overachieving given the average talent level on the Jets.
Rex Ryan was always going to have a short shelf life. If you're a Jet fan, you hoped for 5 years(and a Super Bowl) instead of 3, but this was never going to last very long. So, say thanks for two deep playoff runs and trust that management brings in the right guy to replace him.
Everyone bought into his philosophy and his whole " everybody, we're the Jets" demeanor early, but it was never going to last very long as the more and more you talk, you better get it done or the team will impode. The first year they squeaked in at 9-7, last year they were 10-6 I think, so yeah they were never more than average. So in that respect he has done well in the playoffs.
In all honesty, the Jest were really never that good despite reaching the AFC championship two years straight. I'd say they were solid defensively but not great and average at best offensively. They benefited from a lot of balls bouncing their way in many a game and over achieved in games they should have been trounced. Now that they've come back to earth Ryan's bolsters pompous at ude towards everything not himself has filtered down to scrubs like SHolmes. Serves them right for running their mouths all this time.
I don't agree. I think the Jets have a lot of talent; if anything, their mediocre quarterback play has kept them from getting to the Super Bowl.
that defense is getting raped against the run. im sure namdi regrets going to the eagles. he should have gone to the jets. would have been great for both parties. he and revis do bump and run then rex blitzes everyone, while the defense saves mark sanchez' mediocrity.
I'm sure Sanchez is thrilled his ty oline now is upset and will probably quit.
They can't get any pressure without blitzing 5+ players (usually someone from the secondary) and their offense has a QB with a mediocre line. The talent on the Jets is massively overrated.
Jets talent was strong two years ago, especially with the o-line and running game. Kris Jenkins injuries dealt a huge blow to their run defense in the past.
Really, this is all about Sanchez not developing into a franchise QB. That's why the Jets won't go anywhere. They're not as talented as they were two years ago, but still have enough talent to be a playoff team. Sanchez is just holding them back. Never liked him and never will.
Pretty much this. 2 AFC championship games is not bad coaching when Mark Sanchez is the QB. Dude in sucks.
