U.S. solar manufacturers today asked the Obama administration to slap duties of more than 100 percent on imports from China that they said were unfairly undercutting U.S. prices and destroying American jobs.

"In area after area, the Chinese do not play by the rules," said Senator Ron Wyden, an Oregon Democrat who last month urged President Barack Obama to use U.S. trade law to restrict solar panel imports from China.

Chinese sell us crap, take the US$ and use them, $30B/year, to subsidize more stuff to sell to US.

Of course, hitting China with a tariff would be blocked by the UCA that could be hurt, so America will stay bent over and taking it like a wimp while the UCA pockets all the proceeds.

I don't like Wyden much, but he's not too bad for a democrat. He has some worthwhile plans from time to time. A few week ago, he was talking about trying to get a handle of their currency manipulation, and making law for that. Missed most of what he said, co I can't say much on it.

Living in Oregon, I probably hear more of him than most of you here.
