White Cliffs of Dover.... if I must say.

"Many secular geologists claim that these chalk beds speak of an old earth since they believe chalk formed slowly and progressively over millions of years. However, when we interpret the evidence from a biblical perspective, we see that there is an explanation for the formation of these chalk beds that aligns with the biblical timescale of thousands of years. The main cause of these beds is the catastrophic, worldwide Flood."

Agreed, but the same basic story is told in other cultures with some variations.

I can think of several reasons why the event occurred, but I think the most probably was a massive Coronal Mass Ejection where the earth traveled through a massive cloud of ejected protons from the sun. In the atmosphere, they combined with oxygen and created water, which would cause a planetary rain for the forty days. As for Noah and his family, they may have lived what is now under water of the Mediterranean. All human life would be near some water source, and all water sources would be flooding. No way to really know, but what is now the Straits of Gibraltar could have once been land all the way across between Spain and Africa. The combined rain and ice melt could have breached this area, forming the Mediterranean. The water rushing in at a controlled rate would continue as momentum kept it flowing above the new sea level height, possibly letting the arc settle on a mountain side.

The flood only had to cover the villages of man, again, all would be near some flowing water which would suddenly flood.

I will bet that the only animals Noah actually bought with him, were those usage in some way, primarily food and clothing. Stories change as people tell them over time. This was prior to the written history, and we really don't know how accurate the Torah is. Some could be fables based on truth.

I don't like to get anti-religious, but I draw the line at those who think the earth is only a few thousand years old. The Torah makes no such claim, but is a common misconception because the word meaning day also means cycle. It is the revised words starting with the King James Version that create such misconceptions. There are also two words for "Adam." The one meaning "mankind" was used in the creation, but the proper name for the story with Adam, Eve, Cain, and Able was a different word. We have no way of knowing how long Cain was born after mankind was created, or what the population of earth was by this time.

Repeating something that your silly religion has repeated for over thousands of years, does not make it fact. In fact repeating that quote in this context just shows how simple you really are.

Of course you believe in Magic Santa Claus, now go sit back down.

    jim

Are you really stupid enough to think that is a rational argument? The answer is simple, god didn't create man because no god exists. No wonder there are so many christian garbage collectors.

You have to be really stupid to have typed up this post and not realized it made no logical sense. How do we know man was made in God's image. Because you and your cult followers say so? How stupid is this point? You made a point by making a claim that is not verifiable and then stating it is fact, even though we all know it is a silly idea.

    Ha Ha Ha

I think you will have a hard time proving that. He rarely was ever shown with blonde hair and there was no "Palestine" in his lifetime.

    Daryn

Jim, you used absolutely no reasoning or logic in your argument. What you said would be like me saying, "If Santa Clause isn't real, how come people get presents every Christmas." My argument assumes only Santa delivers presents. Your argument assumes that first, their is a God; second, he/she/it has an image; thirdly, that we were created by that "god" if it does actually exist.
When you use assumptions to argue a point, it is called an opinion, not truth or fact. I assume you have a brain, I request that you start using it. That, however, is just my opinion.
Also as many people have already stated. You may want to look into the roots of Easter and Christmas too, both originally pagan holidays. Just a few of the things i learned when i actually took the time to study the Bible and Christian history. If your going to base your life on a tradition/religious belief(s), I suggest you do the same thing.
