I refuse to believe an NFL team could be this pathetic. Even the 0-16 Lions had some close games.
Honestly, why are they still playing Painter, unless they deliberately plan on going 0-16?
Polian and Caldwell have willingly accepted being labeled as gutless pussies without Peyton. It seems obvious to me they're throwing in the towel. They'll prolly get some kind of fluke win at the end of the season but they're easily the worst team in the NFL.
Peyton=Goat
Carried those bums to the playoffs all these years and two SB appearances.
People talking about Peyton in the playoffs.
Patriots going 11-5 without Brady and Colts going 0-16 without Peyton.
I think they are.
but would it be funny if the colts refuse to sign all those old vets and trade the old peyton
Imagine if Oakland traded away two first rounders for an old injured Peyton? I would love that.
A QB in the NFL is a huge game changer. I cannot think of another team sport (real one) where one person can totally change the team like the QB can in the NFL.
^ Is basketball not a team sport?
They had close games early on. Now however, they have flat out quit. No leadership whatsoever.
I can't agree with this since a QB can't directly impact the game on the defensive end other than keeping the offense on the field to give the defense additional rest.
Miami is throwing games. They should easily have two, three wins by now, but keep having late "collapses"... it's become so obvious the coach had to "protest too much" today to the contrary in order to combat the growing perception.
Tell that to Browns fans who are convinced Frye/Anderson/Quinn/McCoy could be a championship-caliber quarterback if he only had a "better supporting cast."
I'm convinced years of unmitigated losing can turn entire fan bases into idiots.
peyton is indi take him away and u get painter where the fck did they pull that guy outta their ass
If Painter really attempted 49 passes, then yeah, it would seem the Colts are trying to lose.

that makes a damn huge difference.
not only that, but if the offense puts up plenty of points, it often forces opposing offenses to become more predictable, by having to do a lot more passing, making the defenses job easier by not having to respect the run as much, and being able to focus on pressuring the QB more.

Peyton's "leadership" is clearly the problem. His lack of "leadership" may be the reason this team is going 0-16, but that's not a good. How does it benefit anyone when one player has this much control and influence over an entire franchise?
Colts fans always used to love to do the old "Swap Peyton for Brady and Peyton would have 5 rings with that defense" routine, so I'll whip it out now.
Swap Peyton for Brady for their careers, and the Colts have at least 3-4 wins right now with Brady out and Curtis Painter in the lineup. Because Tom Brady is about the team, he never puts himself above the team, and when he goes out, he still manages to be a leader and give the team confidence that they can win without him. Peyton's dictatorship over the Colts organization is obviously unhealthy and not something any franchise should desire, as this season is showing.
That horrible leadership is gonna land them Andrew Luck.
I wish Romo had been less of a leader last year so we coulda gotten Cam.
