After speaking to my father-in-law about his return from home in Vietnam, it sounds like our experiences (recently returned home myself) couldn't be more different. I know there are pockets of individuals who foolishly blame the service member for the policies of a previous adminstration or for the money spent to support conflicts...but they seem to be few and far between. To be honest, I've only ever encountered them over the web (typical internet bullies that would wet their shorts in a real confrontation).
By and large I would say support for veterans is loud and favorable. As a recently-separated veteran myself, I say thanks to them and thanks to you for the support! Also, I'd like to say a special note of thanks to the spouses, children and parents of service members...often forgetten is your sacrifice for their service.
Thank you to all the Veterans on this site, and all over the world. MOST OF US appreciate what you do..I know I do.
I agree with you 100%..all day every day. It's just that on this site any time I've tried to honor military on their days (Memorial Day, Veterans Day, etc..) some idiots decided to come on here and bash our soldiers. Just pisses me off.
Not everyone, just those soldiers who milk it.
Im pro military and thankful and will support them all the way but there are some idiots who think they should be extra special and adored and thanked all the time.
I agree with that..and I do see some soldiers who do milk it, but usually they're the ones who haven't seen war time. Strange, but true.

I was deployed, so no I didn't see it.
Edit: After skimming the thread it's no surprise pego was a part of it. He had an epic failure of a thread some time back where he tried to blame service members for being appreciated. As a veteran I say if he, or DoK or anyone else wants to NOT thank a military member or hold them in high regard it's their choice. I just think they're in the extreme minority.

I agree with Vonnegut: Veteran's Day should be observed on a different day, should still be Armistice Day.
