Ended all talks or just with the Nets?

Whatever it is, Dwight still hasn't signed an extension.

that's pretty stupid. they will lose Dwight next year (or they might be waiting for mid season trade)

regardless, the magic are not getting any better anytime soon

Well it's a small win for Dallas, we don't have anything major to offer right now, but might be players for him in the summer.

This is crazy…Dwight & CP3 are two great all-stars but lets be honest, they are not MJ or Wilt…Five 1st rounds? Total insanity…

I'd say it's a significant win for Dallas. Not only do they stay in the game for Howard, they got Odom as a byproduct of Stern blowing up the first Paul trade.

Not a win for the small markets, especially when both these guys walk next year and their teams are left with absolutely .

    Big win for Dallas potentially.

Not only are they still going to have a shot at landing him next year, if some of their young guys like Roddy B shows any promise during the season before the trade deadline, it might give them a shot at pulling off a mid-season trade for him.

Lots of Mavs fans were upset at the Mavs giving away Rudy and Brewer, but I think its because the FO and coaching staff have faith that if Roddy and DoJo gets minutes, they will show something which they can either use for themselves to benefit from their production (and perhaps the youthful talent also be a selling point for a big-name FA to come to Dallas), or for use in a trade.

So far, the Mavs FO has been absolute gold in the moves they have made and the way they are positioning themselves. Hopefully those efforts come to fruition.

Until the lughead signs an extension, he's on the market. Magic wouldn't let him walk for nothing

Nets should be glad Magic said no ...

They are an injury away from having high picks going to the Magic forever ...

I agree I would love to have BOTH on my team. But the asking price is stupid. All analysts say this new deal encourages trades, but it doesnt. Managing cap space has made it more like the NFL in the off-season.

Keping players that do not want to stay ...is not good for ANYBODY when the contracts are garunteed. Personally I hope Hornets do the same with Paul or trade him. this kind of talk is great during the boring summer ...is fool hardy a week before the season.

BTW, Agree with Simmons. Stern used to be the best comissioner in all of the major sports ...Now, I wouldnt let him run the WNBA ...oh, wait, what?! ! ...
