I think his re-election will go over quite well after those comments. I certainly can't foresee any negative feedback.
At first, I thought surely his account got hacked. But he didn't back away from it, and in fact has responded to this article in the comments by saying people suggesting he be imprisoned for his comments (threats of assassination against the POTUS have always been taken rather seriously) "deserve what our government has become."
