Va. GOP to require loyalty oath in presidential primary
    http://www2.insidenova.com/news/2011...ry-ar-1574984/

The state Republican Party will require voters to sign a loyalty oath in order to participate in the March 6 presidential primary.

Anyone who wants to vote must sign a form at the polling place pledging to support the eventual Republican nominee for president. Anyone who refuses to sign the pledge will be barred from voting.

It probably has more to do with combating Democrats who might vote en masse for the most beatable Republican candidate. Either way, not sure how it would be enforceable.

Big deal, if you're a registered republican voting in the primary you aren't going to vote democrat. You really shouldn't be allowed to change your mind anyway.

Sign a loyalty oath sounds more like something the Nazi Party would require.

    Oh, right. Carry on.

Some states allow anyone to register and vote in a primary. Apparently a lot of Democrats that have no intention of voting Republican in the general election are trying to sabotage the Republican primary by voting for Ron Paul.

Disagree. Those dems and independets truly like Ron Paul thus are voting for him. Nobody is gonna go through the trouble just to "sabotage" 1 vote from an election. that is truly a conspiracy theory

furthermore if you really wanted to sabotage it you would vote for one of the brainless nuts (santorum, bachman, perry)

How does signing a piece of paper prevents that?

It doesn't. Especially with lying, cheating Democrats.

huh? We have the right to change our minds anytime we want as voters. I rarely vote straight ticket.

outside of the fact that it stated that such a pledge was used before. This has nothing to do with RP and all to do with stopping democrats from voting for unelectables en masse to sabotage the R's.

To all da haters.....if you're a real conservative Republican brother or sister, you will have no problem signing a loyalty oath to vote in the primary - it's as simple as that. Clearly, Democrats don't care for such a thing, they flip-flop more than a fat lady's tig ol bitties - so that's to be expected.

well maybe if the GOP would stop hyping "unelectables" they would not have this problem.

BTW, what the is "unelectable"? in a true democracy, there is no such thing. My bad, I forgot we are in a fascist state
