If his name doesn't start with with Matt and end with Bonner, then he's got my endorsement.
How about him as our 5th big? He knows the system and would be a good complement to Duncan and Splitter.

I think hes on the Jazz.. or did they waive him?
Hes currently on the Rockets.
Don't think so. They've got Marcus Morris.
I think Cousin is a FA after being cut from training camp.
My bad, I noticed Cousin on Houston's roster a couple of days ago on Yahoo. If you search Cousin's name on Yahoo, he is still listed on their roster, but Yahoo probably hasn't updated their current roster yet.
I see Marcus Morris, but not Cousin:

He's also not listed on the team website:

Unless he's figure out how to play with both hands yet, it would be a waste of money.
He was definitely cut, because I know they kept Adrien and the other fourteen are guaranteed.
I remember when he was cut in training camp last season, Pop said, to paraphrase, "we like him, we just have too many centers". I can't imagine he's changed his opinion on that, given that McDyess played more power forward than center.
Cousin has a few qualities they're probably looking for in a fifth big. He's inexpensive, young, big, can shoot from mid range and as an added bonus, has at least some familiarity with the system. But I think they'd prefer someone with enough mobility to defend both big positions.
If you search Cousin's name on the player option on Yahoo/NBA, his name still is listed on Houston's roster, but if you look on Yahoo's/NBA/ Rocket's roster, he is not listed. So I guess Yahoo hasn't updated Cousin's status yet.

I liked him last year as developmental big, I wouldn't mind the Spurs taking a look, but it seems that Pop wants a vet. to fill out the 5th big slot.
Is he not very mobile? I've never watched him live but from videos he looks to have decent foot speed.
If Pop wanted a vet, then why wasn't one signed?
I'm not going to pretend to be a Cousin expert, but from what I know of him and the little I've seen, I don't see it. He looks like strictly a five. This is the same organization that seems to have reservations about having Splitter guard fours with any degree of regularity. So I can't imagine they'd view Cousin as someone who could.
The type of big I think they're looking for is someone like Lawal. He's athletic and mobile enough to defend fours, but has just enough length and strength to defend some fives, as well. The problem with him is he can't shoot. If he had Cousin's mid range jumper, he probably would have stuck.
There looking at Przybilla, but so are a few teams, plus it seems that they are waiting up to the trade dealine to see what bigs become available.
His assets are: mid range jumper and he's a good shot blocker. Played the ASG (D-League) last year when he was on the Toros and before signing with the Jazz..
He is a little skinny for a Center, but i would've sign him..
Spurs are actually looking at Pryzbilla? thank god.
I liked Gani Lawal better than the Marcus Cousin idea. Really this team needs ANYBODY that can steal some minutes in the post.
I don't see what he problem would be, he is cheap and the 5th big is only going to play maybe 5-10 minutes a game, hopefully and he knows the system. There really is not any talent available out there that would help us this year. He has some talent, a late bloomer, he can shoot, rebound, but perhaps he wants to be somewhere he can play consistently...we all know Matt Bonner will see time at the 5 spot before he would. At the very least, he should be resigned and sent back to the Toros
You'd figure any guy who takes ten of Bonner's twenty minutes away would be worth the risk. Not really an issue. Up until the Rockets game I figured Bonner was the biggest problem the Spurs have.
DeMarcus Cousins >>> Marcus Cousin
Probably indicated by their relative draft positions - but thanks for the confirmation.
Oh, FYI:
LeBron James >> Danny Green
