Wow, I don't think the castle doctrine was on the books then either. Now it seems pretty cut and dry that anyone breaking into your house is ok to shoot once inside, since under Texas law breaking and entering is a violent crime.

It's amusing to watch people get bent over the laws surrounding the use of lethal force.

If you are in a position where you need to use lethal force, the law is the last thing you need to be concerned with at that time. It's not like you think "is it legal for me to kill him? because if it's not, I would rather die".

Other than the intruder story, I cannot imagine anyone coming on here and laying claim to killing someone, even if it was in self defense. It's not something you would want to share.

For some people it's therapeutic to talk about traumatic events. Maybe if that soldier had an outlet like ST he wouldnt have gone Rambo on that Park Ranger. Probably not, but who knows.
