It seems like the guy is always getting scored on like hes Bonner jr.

Even in the Grizz series him and Hill were big reasons the spurs lost, they got posted up on, scored on, and rebounded on at will by Memphis' much bigger Sgs and Sfs.

    Thoughts?

I think you can say that just about everyone on the team except Leonard.

Do guards really matter as much on D as the interior guys?

Some of the Spurs' best defensive teams had marginal defensive guards, i.e., AJ, Parker, Claxton, Barry, etc.

In fact, about the only high echelon defensive guard I can recall is Mario Elllie.

If Neal can bust a zone and at least try on D he should be fine.

They matter more and more. How many great offensive bigs are there in the league as compared to great scoring perimeter players (That used to be a bit different)?
Of course the bigs still can do some work on perimeter players that left their opponents behind, but perimeter defense is really important these days.

you can say whether its returning from injury, but no excuses...

you can apply this to everyone on the team, since we dont play a lick of defense...

Is Neal a liability on D?
Do coyotes bonner in the woods?

Neal's defense right now is easily the worst on the team.

He is far more of a liability when dribbling the ball and playing point guard.

If neal had not hit those threes early.against Dallas I would say he is tied with Anderson for worst player on the team.

Its easier to on Bonner, plus Neal proved last year he was clutch, at least on offense. Now if Neal struggles this year on offense, his defensive liabilites will stick out more.

I heard Neal had been working on his defense. Hopefully it's just a conditioning problem.

Of course. He's a short SG and he isn't athletic. It isn't a coincidence that other teams post their guards up on him.

Neal is the most overrated Spurs player in history. He's good for shooting 3 pointers and making clutch shots.
Last time I checked, being clutch was a pretty ing impressive thing.

You forgot to mention Parker being abused by Michael Conley Jr.
