Well obviously weed smoke ain't compared to cigarette smoke, but the study compares someone who smokes occasionally vs. someone who smokes cigs daily. If you smoke weed every day you are harming your lungs. Just not nearly as much as you are by smoking cigs, and if you stop smoking entirely your lungs can recover to nearly full health. The difference with cigarettes is it's proven that you have a high chance of developing some type of cancer. But obviously any smoke you are inhaling often into your lungs is not good for you.
The comparison was someone who smoked at least a joint everyday.

Whoops. I read this from yahoo yesterday so I was just going off memory but I guess I confused something different, I had thought that article mentioned that the lung damage for weed is minimal until you exceed 20 or so joints/month and I guess I associated that with <1 per day.
But 1 joint a day is not a fair comparison with a typical cigarette smoker. No one smokes 1 cigarette per day.

If people only knew how many cancer causing chemicals and radiation they breath in they're lungs on a daily basis I'm sure weed would not even be a problem.

Well, I've been smoking weed daily for years and my lungs can still hold a nice hit for quite awhile so I'm good.
I have been Smoking for 20 years and my Lung feels great!
