Max von Sydow Best Supporting Actor in "Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close"

I like O’l Max but he never says a word in the movie…He writes his dialogue on a notebook…I guess Robert Duvall as Boo Radley got jobbed in To Kill a Mocking Bird…

Go Moneyball, although it probably will get snubbed again, but it's my pick.
I think it's kind of ridiculous that it didn't get nominated for score or Director.

Really, really good. The best of the best picture nominees that I've seen (though, admittedly, I've seen less than half of them so far), but not as good as Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. In my opinion.

That's the movie I want to see. Thought about reading the book first but after looking at the reviews, it seems like this might be the rare case where the movie is better.

An understanding of the book for Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy or having read it is definitely a plus. The movie and dialogue reveal very little outright, so you really gotta pay attention. Very faithful adaptation and an excellent movie. One tip without spoiling is to pay attention to the glasses Smiley is wearing to differentiate between flashback and present.

    J. Edgar was a decent film at best, but Leo was outstanding in it. The Academy clearly has their favorites who they overrate to and back, and they have their non favorites who they snub any chance they get. DiCaprio should have won an Oscar for The Aviator years ago and they also didn't even nominate him for neither The Departed or Shutter Island both of which were arguably the best performance of his career behind The Aviator.

Then you get scrubs like George Clooney who never takes on a challenge with his roles and plays the same ole George in every film and the Academy loves him. This DiCaprio snub this year annoys me almost as much as how many times the Academy has snubbed Ed Harris over the years. (Especially for his supporting role in Gone Baby Gone)
