Spurs will be lucky if they can get a 2nd round pick for Blair
We always talk about the problem of the D on the interior, particularly Blair and Bonner, but the perimeter defenders are just as poor IMO..
Parker, Ginobili and Leonard are the only acceptable team defenders..Leonard is the only notable individual defender, and he isn't a lockdown guy..
Is this a serious problem?..If so, how can the Spurs address this issue?..

Blair just played solid D on Dirk, one of the few moments of solid D that he has displayed..yet, it's all for nothing, as Jefferson allows Terry to slash, for a wide open mid-range jump shot..
Spurs might have the worst perimeter defense in the entire NBA
Starts with the coaching staff's mentality. It is possible to be good on defense without stellar individual capabilities.
I'm a big Parker fan and have found his defense to be quite underrated for a long time, but his defense is a huge part of the teams defensive issues at the moment.
The Mavs are actually a pretty good example of this..even without Chandler, they have been a very good defensive team, this year..
Mavs have superior defenders in guys like Marion and West, but guys like Carter and Peja(last year) have looked passable in their system..
Just like in the old days when we could survive with Ferry and Kerr
Interior D affects perimeter defense. If you have good interior defense you can play up on your mind and pressure them because you know you have help if you get beat. If you don't have that help you can't play as aggressive. The only way the Spurs can play that way is with Tim and Tiago at the same time.
I agree, but in the game vs. New Orleans, as an example, Splitter and Duncan shut down the interior, but the Spurs couldn't stop guys like Jack and Ariza on the perimeter..
