They are 0.5 games out of 3rd, without their best player..I'll take it..
Spurs just need to maintain a .500 pace without Manu, and they'll be fine..the conference is weak..

Yep, and until they can win tough games on the road I exect them to stay around that there. Two losses in a row, both very winnable games. West is so even it will be very tough to make it IMO. Manu will come back but will that save us?Yeah man they are hardly out of it by any stretch, it is a very very even WC IMO with no real front runners and alot of middle tier teams. West is more balanced, East has the two better teams though IMO.
The organic tank is in effect...
It's nothing to panic over yet, but one bad stretch can do you in. Spurs could legitmately lose the next 6 games. It is a brutal stretch. They need to find a way to keep there heads above water though.
MEM, Rockets, Hornets on a b2b, Thunder, MEM, Philly
Spurs should be 14-11 at the end of the week, with Manu coming back after the rodeo road trip... I'll take it
Memphis and San Antonio will make it in while Utah and Houston will eventually drop out
Spurs will win the SW and get 4th, I'm not worried
If this team continues to play like on the road, the Rodeo road trip will leave us scrambling to make the playoffs.
The young guys are playing well, but so what ? Losses are losses. They need to light a fire under their own asses or they can kiss this season over.
I give them credit for playing at a higher level at home, but come on, you HAVE TO WIN ON THE ROAD. That's where the good teams separate themselves from the pretenders. --> Which the Spurs are right now.
Maybe the younger guys shamed the vets in to playing harder going forward. I doubt it though. There problems are upstairs in la cabeza.
Really? Look at all the teams with 6, 7, 8, and 9 losses. The West doesnt exactly have 3 or 4 powerhouses like it use to. The Lakers just lost to the Bucks last night, and then beat the Wolves tonight. Explain that....
Manu says he'll be back.between Feb 10-15
SPURS will be fine
At some point late in the 4th in both games the Spurs and Wolves were ahead, that was a good moment.
We all expected this here on ST
NOOOOOO! Not out of playoff contention a whole month in a half into the season, half a game out of the 3 seed without Manu!!! Slaps his cheeks like Macaulay Culkin in Home Alone. Who cares?
... and I am actually stupider for having read this.
Someone doesn't know what "contention" means.
team should be 16-5 had pop gave a damn
We were 4th seed Sunday morning... the west outside of OKC and Denver is just too level right now... gotta stay at around .500 until Manu and TJ come back
The lakers did the same thing last year. They coasted disinterested through much of the regular season then turned it up after the All Star game.
Not sure why everyone is on Denver's nuts. They are the same team every year. Good Offense, no Defense. Not ever enough to get passed the 2nd round if they can even get out of the first.
We're likely not going to win a ring, but remember that other teams that did better than us last year were sucking pretty hard about this time last year while their stars were injured.
Spurs will recover. If they can almost grab a win out of Dallas with their bench, they can find ways to win almost anywhere. We'll lose tonight, beat the Rockets and Hornets, Thunder is up in the air, then we'll go 6-3 on the RRT, with Manu and Ford returning sometime during or immediately after it.
So true.
