which poses the question, are americans too sensitive? personally, if someone in another country ran a nonviolent ad "depicting" americans, id find it amusing.

not that this is really pertinent to the topic, but i might take a hard look at job opportunities in china. apparently china relishes having american workers for teaching english, consulting, etc.

Hokstra's spending problem is bull , the problem is Repug tax cutting and govt destruction.
revenue and spending are both areas of concern, long term. insisting that one or the other be ignored is more of a tribal badge of iden y than anything else.
it's pretty obvious you sport blue pom poms, boutons. you can't run away from the ulative weight of your own selective emphasis.
short term it's not spending cuts and more austerity, but jobs.
Govts cuts spending, the economy stalls, the unemployment and foreclosures up, and consumerism down.
we have a Banksters Great Depression Now not because of the national debt.
The problem has nothing to do with spending or cuts but economic equilibrium. Can't keep America ahead of the rest of the world and not expect jobs to flow overseas for cheap labor. I would argue that spending to keep your population more skilled than others is the only way to keep your labors value high enough to make that a non factor but whether or not that can be done successfully is highly suspect in and of itself (I'd say no, to be honest).
People should be more offended at the outright bad logic in the ad more than the stereotypes, IMO.
I mean, I understand trying to highlight spending as a problem... but the ad basically appeals towards hate on China, and frankly, it's so silly I can see where it comes across as almost insulting...
At least Clint Eastwood's ad appealed to the American spirit of rallying together...
