No pressure at all.
Per Project Spurs:

No pressure at all.
i saw it from the beginning the tools r there
Bowen was undrafted and worked hard for years to finally stick with a team. Leonard had lottery talent and slipped to 15. He's got the physical tools to live up to expectations and then some. Bowen knows that as well as anyone.
It would be great if KL seeks out Bruce for advice.
Bring on Bruce as an assistant coach. Uh now
Bruce is all class. There is no such thing as a "better Bruce."
I'm actually wondering is the jersey retirement ceremony (that many were surprised is going to happen before Duncan's retirement) isn't actually a way to mend the relationship between Bowen and Pop/The Spurs organization.
They owe it to him, I hope retiring his jersey was never a question in their mind
I think that may be overblown.
Noted, but there's some evidence to back up the theory that it may not be overblown.
What are the rumors exactly?
I don't know anything about rumors; Bowen and Pop have too much class to feed it, and you know the SA media wouldn't dare report anything they heard. Bowen was benched, traded unceremoniously, not offered any position in the organization, compared to Keith Bogans and his number was given to a scrub. That's a rather chilly relationship with an ex-player that meant so much to the team's le runs.
Regardless of how things were left, it's always going to be good to have an excuse for Bowen to be welcomed back into the organization.
How do you retire a jersey after giving it out?
You just do.
There aren't many rules regarding this.
As for offering him a job, didn't he get the ESPN gig almost immediately?
spurfan tends toward confirmation bias.
Might or might not, hard to say at this stage, but if Bruce gets a job (or at least "assignment") to help KL develop as a defender, then I'll stick to the assessment of the situation that the jersey ceremony wasn't just for the beauty of the game...
Because it's not retired before you retire it.
