OK, my last take on Feb 12 Contest issue.

- I'm not mad that I lost the points for that contest, I wasn't going to win anyway. Of course it sucked, but that wasn't the reason I questioned the decision.

- If you say the rule stood from the beginning on, you are correct to cancel the day.

- Do you consider removing this rule for the next round? I think I'm right that you shouldn't reward the players who forget to place their bets.
If you don't consider it, an explanation would be nice.

You are more than welcome to suggest it there.

Personally, I'd be more happy to move the minimum requirement from 10 to 5, or so. This rule was implemented, at first, as a failsafe so I, as a contestant, would not have an unfair advantage over you guys (because as I create the game threads, I'll never miss a day). Also, if Kori sees many people playing, she is more inclined to give the trophy (trophies are never a sure thing, mind you).

Yes, I "may". Now we have 10 entries, so I "won't". But if people stop playing because they have no chance on winning, entries go down. It happened at the start of this round, when a few guys missed a few days, and stopped playing altogether. But back then we dropped from a 16 entries average, to a 13 people average. So there was no need to keep mentioning the rule every single game thread. Some here have already mentioned the rule has been in place before, is not something I just invented now.

If you have a problem, say so.

So, logically, if I enforce the 10 man rule with the present conditions, and people stop playing, and we go below the 10 man quota, what happens? I have to make game threads after game threads, till we somehow hit 10 people? I know the rule kinda sucks, but it is not done at my convenience. The rule is there not only so we have a nice pool of people to play with, also to make sure I, or any other player that logs very often, don't have all the advantage to be on every single game (people do miss game threads).

I've been asked for next round to drop the 10 entries rule.
And I'll consider it. Problem is then people may complain I have an unfair advantage because I, as the Game Master, will never ever miss a game.

And if people think I like making game threads to later have to cancel them because we did not reached the 10 entries, you are ing idiots. It's not that hard to do it, but day after day after day, making sure games are correct, making sure the bonus questions are not easy, later make the scores and check and re-check the math... It's not a ing walk in the park. I thank WNL for that, because though his scores are not really "official", it saves me the trouble of doing the Overall Score, which helps a lot.
