CP3 showing why he's the best passer in the league. His passes are so good they even go to the other team. Wait...

It looks like a backcourt violation and a travel before he passes it to Neal.

    But I'll take it

    Two other big plays :

Neal also made a huge 3 to quiet the crowd when the Clippers were making a run.

Paul didn't forget flopping even after he threw the pass to Neal. How professional is that as a flopper!

Was Tim called a foul on that block? Or was it another one?

i dont remember if it was monoco after the game or someone on nba gametime but they said that wouldnt be a violation this year. the rule had changed.

I just love watching the crowd reaction in slow-mo during this sequence. As soon as the ball gets into Neal's hands, you can count about 30 people in the audience throw their hands on their head. After he buries the shot, nearly twice as many people go into full facepalm mode. And the Clippers bench can't even react; they just stand there in stunned silence

It's not a violation to throw the ball directly to a player in the backcourt from the side following a timeout.

Chris Paul, however, caught the ball with one foot in the frontcourt, but his momentum was carrying him into the backcourt. If you establish the frontcourt and then go back, that's always a violation, which is why he instinctively tossed the ball. In hindsight, he would've been better to take the backcourt violation and the Spurs would've had to throw the ball in from side-out....but I guess he wanted to get another assist to Neal since Tony was showing him up.

What's also interesting in this sequence is the bad defense from Foye, and also Paul: Foye moves away from Neal, as if he was going to drive to the hoop with the Spurs down by 3, and Paul moving also back to apparently prevent a pass (???). Any of them foul Neal, especially Foye while Neal is still in 2-pt territory, and that's 2 FTs and /game.

I think Paul's blunder caused Foye to get confused for a second thinking he was on offense. Foye doesn't look too bright to me, this wouldn't surprise me much.

Though it probably wouldn't have been wise to run out and try to foul Neal at the top of the key; he would have been already in his motion of shooting the 3, and the likely result would have been a 4 pt play and surrender of the lead.

I just can't believe how high Neal gets on that jumpshot. What a beautiful release point. Best form in the nba of anyone BY FAR.

It was a clean block, but Griffin will get the benefit of the doubt over Duncan at this point. He is the household name now.

If you look right at the beginning, just when Neal gets hold of the ball, Foye is so close to him he only has to extend his arm to foul him, and Neal is within 2-pt range.

there was also a corner 3 hit in front of the clippers bench where all of them were jixing and with teh assistant coach waving his arm like he nearly touches the ball from behind...i think it was neal or bonner who shot it

I believe that's Neal's corner 3 during OT, with the nice pass from Duncan in the paint.

Right, but I think he was confused by Paul's strange miscue. I mean, a smart player would have reacted to the situation at hand, but Foye just looks confused the entire time.

If you watch the GIF closely, when Neal catches the ball and jab steps, there's another Spur running full tilt into the frame, right behind Paul. I'm sure it was a reflexive act on both Clip defenders to guard the rim. Foye thought he was deeper and should take the flare man, and Paul thought he'd stay with his man.

It was clean, he hit him on the follow through but that was after the block.
