This comes after US agreed to back a UN resolution to back the UN in military use of force against IRAN

If Big oil wants such a war, it would be to reduce foreign imports making oil more expensive via supply and demand. Not because they want their oil. In reality, I don't see big oil backing this. They already have comfortable profits. I guess it's possible, but they stand to lose as many assets I bet as what they would receive in extra profits.
Keeping Iran from getting nuclear weapons is simply the right thing to do. It really appears they are trying to bring the 12th Imam to this world.

If we are going to devote military to this cause, then in my view, we need to train the Israeli soldiers on some of our toys, and give them some. Obama as commander in Chief will just up this type of command.
Time to quit talking and bomb Iran's nuclear sites. I believe they are sick enough and dumb enough to use a nuke if/when they get it. I don't see the point in waiting.
Agreed. i think Israel will take care of tyhem, and we should only take action if Israel asks for our help.

Israel should and will do it. It is immenent. We will play some kind of role in it whether Israel wants it or not. Not that I agree with it, but history shows we like to get ours hands dirty.
Using the same logic we had 10 years ago, this would be a no brainer. Iran with nukes is way more dangerous than Saddam with nukes. Our country is in no shape financially to do this on our own. I would honestly leave them alone until we get our together (even if that takes decades).
I think chances of a war are going down, not up. I don't believe the administration is willing to risk open war in the middle east with gas prices this high. Especially not in an election year. I believe the administration is probably placing heavy pressure on the Israelis behind the scenes to give sanctions more time.
US/UK oilcos were kicked out of Iran, like they were kicked out of Iraq. Both countries' oilcos desperately want to get at Iraq's oil. No matter how many $100Bs in oilco profits, the oilcos are NEVER satisfied.
Iran-with-nukes is just smokescreen, since everybody knows, esp the mullahs, that Iran would be obliterated along with whomever to Iran's first nuke. Guaranteed suicide.

Britain and France depend little on Iranian oil, however, so their targeting may be a mostly symbolic act, a function of the strong positions the two nations have taken in trying to halt Iranian nuclear enrichment and to bring pressure to bear on Syria, one of Iran’s closest allies.

Yes, I know that. I just don't know the inventory or dollar amount. My point is we should stay clear of this in the man power department. If Israel doesn't have a B2 bomber, lets give or loan them some for example. Same with the newest cruise missiles technology we have.

I dislike a lot of countries and wouldn't bomb them. Iran has threatened to nuke Israel. I do not take their threats lightly.

As long as Iran continues to threaten Israel, they are perfectly within their rights to attack.
I don't know what your deal is with oil companies, they seem to be your scapegoat with everything that is wrong with the world. In reality you know nothing and see only what you want in order to confirm your super liberal beliefs. Bottom line is that oil companies are far from desperately wanting foreign oil.
