Saw that yesterday...good people...all our kids went to school together...did a lot of stuff with them at the school and also have had many burgers/beers/margaritas at the restaurant.
My thoughts go out to the family of Chris Madrid, owner of the popular Blanco road burger restaurant that bears his name. Chris died over the weekend at the age of 61.
Will have to make time to go have a burger in his memory.

Wow...didn't hear that...R.I.P brah...your place makes the best artery clogging food around...so damn delicious...
I love his restaurant, and every time I talked to Chris there he seemed like a really nice guy. RIP to a San Antonio legend.![]()
Our family went to Chris Madrids at least once a month back in the 80's. Of course when you live on W.Elsmere and Blanco it makes it pretty easy. I'll never forget those cheeseburgers with the cheese all the way out to the edge of the plate. I must have spent at least $100 on that Joust arcade game they hadRIP Chris 61 is far to young
Favortie burger place in S.A. R.I.P. Chris.
Which one? The Cheddar Cheesy is by far my favorite.
That's the only one i've ever tried. Everytime I'm in SA I make it a point to stop by Chris Madrid's. Place is awesome.
Flaming jalapeno with cheddar...then add pico to it...don't get the macho anymore...just too damn much.
My wife went to eat there about a year ago and ran into one of her patients there who was with Chris Madrid. Chris asked her if she would see him for a check up so she gave him the office number but he never made an appointment.
Honestly I only went there like 2-3 times.. the burgers are just too greasy, soggy greasy.. just not my thing, as soon as I discovered Texas Hamburger Company I didn't go back.
Thanks for sharing this sad news. Good memories!
