Apple may be attempting to reduce its reliance on Samsung components, but its bill from the Korean firm is likely to be the largest to-date according to one exec: up from $7.8bn in 2011 to as much as $11bn by the end of 2012. “The amount of the current contract is around $9.7 billion” a Samsung executive told The Korea Times on understanding of confidentiality, but “is expected to rise to $11 billion by the end of this year as Apple is planning to release a smaller iPad, probably with a 7.85-inch screen, and to sell more of its MacBook Air PCs using Samsung’s faster solid state drive storage.”

Schachter believes Google searches on Apple devices resulted in $1.3 billion in gross revenue. He believes Google has a 75% traffic acquisition cost associated with that revenue. As a result, Google only gets $335 million in net revenue from searches on iOS and Safari.

If Apple were to abandon Google, the impact to Google would be minor. The impact to Apple might actually be worse, since it would have to rely on search engines that are arguably inferior to Google.

I just got my mom a Blackberry Playbook

200$ - 16 gig as she doesn't really more than that

I've been playing with it and it's really impressive stuff

1080 p looks amazing, no lag, and those speakers the other tablet's speakers

Also, best mul asking I've seen so far, and no devices runs Flash as smoothly as the PB

The 200$ Playbook s on 500$ iPad 2 IMO - and Android tablets too
