yea somebody needs to pull him aside
I'm a fan of Dany Green, tonite 6 reb 6 assists 1 blk 1 stl 36 mn. He is having a very solid year and Pop seems to trust him a lot. He just need to be a bit more selective with his shooting, with all the offensive weapons the Spurs have 19 FGAs is way too much for him.
I hope he will clean that soon
yea somebody needs to pull him aside
The 0-5 from three land killed his stats.
That attempt number would have fallen if Tiago and Tony were on the court tonight. I don't mind the aggressiveness with those two out tbh
But what if Pop told him to go out there an be aggressive.
He was everywhere. Dont know who was guarding him, but he was open sooo many times. Without Tony`s 20 shots, somebody must take them. Today it was Green
its only a problem if the spurs lose tbh
I'm fine with it. He usually shoots better. He is the guy the other team always leaves open so he has to shoot those. Plus, when he plays D that way, I don't mind him taking those shots. All IMHO
He played great most of the game it was just in a five minute span that he went crazy. I like that Pop pulled him and instead of going crazy on him sat him down and talked to him.
I like green to but with Jackson signed now, Jackson should be playin an takin shots before Green gets the green light! Imho
Agreed. But 3 of those missed 3's were wide open. Just have to crack the code in the long-range.
manu played 28 mn and took 11 and Jax 22 mn and took 7... it's not like we have nobody to take some shots. I have no issue with him taking a bunch but 19 ?? On top of that a big part of these shots were not quality shots.
Oh and somebody needs to teach him how to run the clock, no need to take a shot within 5 sec when you have 10 pts with 3 mn to go.
Agreed 100%
Not concerned unless it becomes a habit. I don't see Pop letting that happen though.
Yeah, he didn't have his shooting touch tonight but kept letting it fly ... I suppose Pop doesn't want him to pass up the open shot when he's in, but he also had a couple of ill advised plays when he was trying to run the pick and roll. Love the energy but he needs to keep working on his game.
Yeah I really wish he would have the spread the ball more because maybe then we wouldn't have won the game by only 17 points.
As long as he doesn't get that many attempts in a single playoff game, it's passable this one time.
When he's hustling like that I don't mind, especially in the drivers seat to a win. His aggression is the reason James doesn't play.
It's a lot easier to deal with in a blow out win.
This is the kind of player he is imo. With Tony gone, its not out of the realm of possibility for him. He aired a wide open 3 in the flow of the game. He forced a few, but that is the kind of player he is when he feels he needs to do more.
Tim also fed him the ball a couple of times when he could have just taken it to the basket. Not a huge deal, shots were there for the most part. Manu was also deferring a whole bunch tonight as well.
But again, in a playoff game, he better know his role and defer and only, ONLY shoot when wide open or the shot clock is coming down.
Parker and Splitter out, It doesn't bother me he shot that much. He was very aggressive but just missed some good 3 pt selections.
For you guys who watched the game, some of those 3's were really wide open but I agree that some are forced. Just gotta limit and watch for those open ones.
He seems bright enough to pick his opportunities. With Parker back he is going to do more spot up shooting, and as long as he's open Pop will always give the shooter a green light.
Bonner is the true playoff liability. Thankfully we have additional options when he does his yearly disappearing act.
He does SEEM bright enough to pick his opportunities but the bright lights of the playoff scene can make young guys do stupid things...let's just hope he isn't one of those kids. I agree on Bonner, though. I'd rather Green take shots away from Bonner if that's what it came to in the playoffs.
