He's the best coach in the NBA, next to Pop, tbh..
You could make very weak cases for Pop, Collins, or Brooks. But I don't think anyone comes close.

No one comes close?zero championships and nothing to show for. outta here rook.
so who deserves it then?
Great defensive team but not enough firepower to overcome the Heat.
But god damn have they developed some nice PGs in Watson/Lucas.
Doug Collins deserves it imo. I don't even think the Sixers are that good of a team. I know Rose has missed a bunch of games and the Bulls still win. But the Sixers don't really have that much talent. Iguodala is not a superstar. Brand is a s of his 20/10 self. Their best scorer comes off the bench and only averages 15 PPG. They don't have any other quality bigs, which you need in the NBA. Hawes has played okay but has missed like 30 games. They're the best defensive team in the league. And quite frankly, I don't know how they're as good as they are. I attribute it mostly to coaching because their roster isn't that good.
It's between Vogel, Collins, and Pop. I'd personally pick Pop and it seems the media agrees, but you can make cases just as strong for the other two. It'll all depend on where each team finishes record wise imo.
Coach of the Year won't coach a Championship team the same year, again, tbh
Brand is a top 5 player in defensive rating this year, though, but I agree with you on this. Philly is not a good team.
Thibodeau just made the play that sealed him as the Coach of the Year.
playing Rose in a meaningless stretch
getting your star injured
sportsmanship and class
Coach of the Year
running your starters into the ground from game 1
"star player in first game back? 43 mins playing time"
proof that you can survive while eating nothing but McD's
pissed away 2012 season in 47 minutes
He and Pop both deserve it, but you gotta go with Pop getting it done as the top seed and ensuring the health of his guys.
Regular season champions
Both coaches managed around injuries
Thibs had Rose limping into the playoffs
Pop has Manu and entire team healthy
And yet, despite knowing this, he still played him in the garbage time of a game which was virtually over by the start of the 4th.![]()
