Manu and Tony.
the best spurs rookie since Tim Duncan?
dont remember a spur who is putting up the stats and has this kind of potential and promise in their first year. much less a condensed year due to the lockout.. no training camp no summer league
this dude is the future.

Manu and Tony.
Feels so weird to rewatch that.
Yeah. And his accent has surely changed over the years. Seems so French as a rookie

Rookie TP>Rookie Leonard>Rookie Manu imo
Can't remember rookie Manu or TP since it was so long ago but Kawhi has been extremely impressive, his defense is 10x better than both guys even now and that counts for A LOT, better at rebounding as well, seems pretty equal offensively.
imagine if kawhi went to training camp last summer and played in the summer league,
his game would be even smoother. if not better.

Thanks for posting man
That highlight against The Glove at the very end really capped it off.
oops
I might have to say maybe. I'd say Parker > Kawhi > Manu > Jax
Manu was injured his rookie year I believe. i remember he sprained his ankle at Indianapolis World's and didn't even play the final where Argentina lost.
that was the summer before his rookie season
manu was hurt NO WAY WHO WOULD HAVE EVERY GUESSed
Don't worry son. The future of the Spurs will develop his talents without training camps and summer leagues with a bunch of scrubs.
lol i mean yea its a bunch of scrubs, but thats how all the GOOD rookies get their confidence and mojo going into their first season.
they dont just get thrown into the fire like kawhi, how many coaches put a rookie on the other teams best player.. theyd get ted on.
but hes handling it like a boss
He ain't good. He's Excellento.
hes a G.![]()
Jax rookie season was with the Nets.
But Tony's rookie season was just fantastic, too bad we were destroyed in the PO by the Lakers. So glad Jason Kidd didn't come here to replace him.
I love KL but... the youngest starting PG ever says o.
Manu hit some clutch shots in the playoffs as a rookie. That season ended rather well.
I don't think I'd put Kawhi ahead of TP or Manu. TP started 70+ games as a 19-year-old on a team that won 58 games. By late in that season, he had already emerged as the team's third best player outside of those two tall guys in the middle.
Manu was hobbled for some of his rookie season but she showed a lot of potential, eventually became a reliable closer and then did great work in the playoffs.
As good as Kawhi is so far, the Spurs don't rely on him nearly as much as they relied on TP or Manu.
If you are going by straight regular season stats, a player who has a case to be better than any of 'em is our good buddy DeJuan Blair. His stats as a rookie were beastly and he played quite a bit. Not only were his stats good, his plus/minus numbers were surprisingly strong for an undersized rookie bigman.
To round out the top five, I'd probably go with Beno Udrih, tbh. Or maybe Gary Neal.
